Paradise Valley VFD hosts annual fish fry fundraiser
COMANCHE COUNTY, Okla. (KSWO) - Saturday morning the Paradise Valley Volunteer Fire Department held their annual fish fry fundraiser full of music, community and of course; fish.
During the event, the Paradise Valley community as well as others came and went to enjoy the sights and sounds all while meeting others in the neighborhood.
Kyle Hayes is a firefighter with the department and says it’s important for the fire department to put this event together so they can personally meet the other residents within their community.
“Beyond just raising money for the department, it’s about community relations,” Hayes explained. “Getting our name out and understanding we’re members of this community. The people who live here, we all live here as well.”
Hayes adds there was more than just fish at the event, everything from hamburgers, hotdogs, and a wide array of deserts were also up for grabs.
He also says the fish he says were mostly all caught by the firefighters and looks forward to next years event.
