Perfectenschlag!!! This word is from last season, but we couldn't help but include it. Perfektenschlage is "when everything in a man's life comes together perfectly." The second meaning is "perfect pork anus." The word translates from the German as "perfect (perfekt) bang or blow (schlage)." Clair Obscur Expedition 33 blends surreal art, tactical combat, and rich exploration into one of the most impressive debut RPGs in years. Even genre skeptics will be hooked by its reactive turn-based battles and beautifully crafted world.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 mixes JRPG-like turn-based battles with real-time action. While I was hooked to this combat system, the story’s sudden plot twist felt forced. Although this was hard to ignore, it is undeniable that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is an appealing game that delivers a strong message.

It's a mixed bag for me.
The story is captivating and I thoroughly enjoy the dialogue, brought to life by fantastic VA. From highly emotional to witty with great comedic timing, back to dramatic - super well done.
The music really adds to this and some songs really stuck with me after playing.
The actual gameplay isn't my cup of tea though. Linear levels with the occasional split way where one leads to a dead end with an item and the other is the path to follow to the boss gets repetitive quickly.
For a game called Expedition 33, there's actually very little exploration to do. Even the optional areas you can reach via the overworld map are either a still frame with a item or an optional boss. It doesn't add to the story and (at least for me) makes exploration a drag.
I'd say, if the linear levels and the relatively empty world don't dampen your playing experience, you're in for a treat. For me however, it was something to push through to be able to experience the story.

Not as good as people claiming it to be, the art and music's are amazing, I personally don't like the idea of adding parrying & dodging in a "turn-based" system ,and this game feels like really low on strategies which is the most important element in a turn-based battle, would be a much better game if it's not advertised to be **** story is really **** up, like the message of the first chapter and things following it is completely opposite, and the death of specific character feels just **** still, it's pretty good for a debut title while I'm really sad for the develop team that this game is used for some worst game discourse and the fanbase is just one of the most toxic of all time

this is a good game, not a great game and certainly NOT 'a masterpiece'. I sank over 40 hours into it and I must admit I enjoyed a good deal of it. Sadly it has problems. The parry/evade system is tough, even on easy. The map and menu system are both bothersome. Some of the dialogue is pretty cringe and it did feel VERY derivative of the Final Fantasy games complete with cutesy creatures. Still, the characters and world **** me in and it's miles better than a lot of the slop we've been getting lately.
