Its presentation is top-notch, its levels are varied and interesting, its AI is convincing, and the whole game drips with love and attention to detail.
They should remake these games exactly the same with updated graphics and a whole new engine. Im sure it would be game of the year if not contenders for sure
An excellent FPS, and easily one of the year’s best. It’s varied, funny, imaginative, challenging (on anything other than Easy mode, which you could complete blindfolded) and has a lot to offer. However, despite all this, it lacks its predecessor’s spark of genius and genuine originality. If we sound a little on the negative side, it’s only through mild disappointment that it’s merely a very good game rather than a repeat performance of a genuine classic.
If it sounds like NOLF2 is a lot like NOLF, and you're wondering why I'm complaining so bitterly, you have my sympathy. When I say they "gutted" NOLF2, I mean it, and I can back it up.
When I was young this game was amazing. Going back to play in 2024 the game has aged so poorly I'm genuinely shocked. The humor and voice acting are fine. Don't care about old graphics either. The combat is pretty bad by today's standards. How times have changed.
In the first game the missions were very different and funny. In addition I liked the 60s design. Now in the 2nd game such things are gone: the missions are all the same and there is no humour. The game is more focused on action and in my view it lacks variety.
The story is not so interesting any more, in the 1st game the dialogues were more realistic.
The graphics is great, even today. If you have problems with the mouse acceleration, install mouse drivers and lower dpi. It is a bug with the engine, that is great beside of that.
One of the funniest game ever played...
But there is too many bugs in gameplay and graphics is too poor
let's hope there will be NOLF 3 in future with good graphics and gameplay
Bon chien !
