Hall reprises his best-known role as America's favorite vigilante serial killer Dexter Morgan in this sequel to the sequel to the long-running Showtime hit Dexter and that show's very recent and underwhelming prequel. Sure, [spoiler alert] Dexter died at the end of the 2021 sequel series, but why let that stop the franchise from continuing when you have a streaming service in need of non-Star Trek content? The newest series picks up a few weeks later, with Dexter not dead but somehow survivng being shot in the chest by his son (Jack Alcott, who returns here), and the story then moves to New York City for reasons yet unspecified. Skeptical? Perhaps this impressive list of new and recurring cast members might sway you: Uma Thurman, Peter Dinklage, Krysten Ritter, Neil Patrick Harris, Eric Stonestreet, and David Dastmalchian. Also returning from the OG Dexter are David Zayas and James Remar, plus fan-favorite baddies played by John Lithgow and Jimmy Smits. Hall reprises his best-known role as America's favorite vigilante serial killer Dexter Morgan in this sequel to the sequel to the long-running Showtime hit Dexter and that show's very recent and underwhelming prequel. Sure, [spoiler alert] Dexter died at the end of the 2021 sequel series, but why let that stop the franchise from continuing when you have a streaming service in need of non-Star Trek content? The newest series picks up a few weeks later, with Dexter not dead but somehow survivng being shot in the chest by his son (Jack Alcott, who returns here), and the story then moves to New York City for reasons yet unspecified. Skeptical? Perhaps this impressive list of new and recurring cast members might sway you: Uma Thurman, Peter Dinklage, Krysten Ritter, Neil Patrick Harris, Eric Stonestreet, and David Dastmalchian. Chad Powers Comedy: Hulu's new comedy stars Glen Powell as star college quarterback Russ Holliday, who is kicked off his team for poor behavior and then tries to sneak his way onto a different school's squad in disguise under the name Chad Powers. Powell also co-created the series (with Loki creator Michael Waldron), which has its origins in an NFL Films-produced short that aired on ESPN+ in 2022 in which Eli Manning starred as Powers. The Gold Trailer Drama: Masterpiece's newest import is a retelling of one of the most infamous crimes in British history: The 1983 Brink's Mat robbery, in which six men broke into a security depot near Heathrow Airport expecting to walk off with a modest score but who instead stumbled across a shocking £26 million worth of gold bullion. (That's roughly $150 million today, accounting for inflation and exchange rates.) This first season examines the robbery and the legal proceedings that immediately followed, including the convictions of some of the robbers; a second season will follow the search for the remaining funds and an investigation into the massive money laundering operation that followed in the robbery's wake.
