Season 4 is just as refreshing as previous seasons. It’s just also taking a fundamental dynamic and bending it as far as it can, while growing the main characters in exciting, relatable ways.
Mythic Quest was already a must-see series, but Season 4 is easily one of its best yet, providing a strong showcase for everyone involved.
Every time a new season comes around, there’s a concern that a show about video-game developers has to have a pretty short shelf life. But like those mobile games that people never stop downloading, this comedy just keeps on clicking.
Mythic Quest is at a stage where it can take its time exploring and evolving the key relationships between its main characters, while keeping things funny, and we see that during the fourth season.
Gamer in-jokes abound, yet non-nerds need not fear – the video game setting, while sharply satirised, takes a back seat to a devastatingly funny portrait of workplace pettiness and the perils of putting too much technology at the disposal of the vain and dim-witted. Specific storylines involve industrial espionage and a disastrous murder mystery weekend, though plot largely takes a backseat to the steady supply of zingers.
Charlotte Nicdao is given a range of material that ensures she’s the standout of a terrific ensemble. Season 4 isn’t without its downsides: some characters don’t get as much meaty material, and other storylines fizzle too soon. But a fun detour into a murder-mystery outing finds Mythic Quest at its best, highlighting how the writers keep leveling up.

One of the best shows, or even THE best TV show of all time. The script, direction, acting is simply amazing. And S4 is an absolute triumph, solidifying its place as one of the most exceptional comedies on television today. The series masterfully blends humor, heart, and character development, delivering a season that is both hilariously entertaining and profoundly touching.
