    @kvb, my comment is a bit off topic, but just wanted to share that while usually ideal, in practice many companies do not have specialized positions as you've described and do require that, as in your example, a single developer have deep (enough) knowledge of SQL, HTML, Javascript, CSS, etc. and perhaps business analysis as well. I've personally worked under both scenarios (not determined by company size) and each has it's advantages and disadvantages and may be more or less appropriate on a per-project basis, but specialization certainly is luxury.
