This app has made my life so much easier, and I couldn’t be more impressed with it. I travel a lot and sort all the bookings out myself through multiple different websites, which previously used to make keeping on top of my itinerary a bit of a chore, especially when travelling in areas outside of wifi / mobile data. Tripit automatically retrieves all my booking info through my email without me having to do anything at all, and compiles it into a sleek, user-friendly, easy-to-navigate itinerary that updates itself in real time with gate and terminal info and saves for offline use. It is also quick and easy to check in online for flights through the app, and it retrieves and copies all the booking confirmation codes for you to save you having to dig around in your email for them. Sharing travel info with friends and family is easy and very clear. I am very very happy with how much work this app saves me and how much smoother it makes all my travelling. I have a couple of suggestions for improvements in the future... recently I cancelled a hotel booking and it wasn’t as easy to remove a cancelled item from my itinerary as I’d hoped. I had another one but I can’t remember what it is now, can’t have been that good I suppose. Cheers Tripit for making my itinerant life a breeze.
Have been using this app for several years now. Excellent. What would be a good addition (unless it is there and I have missed it) is a copy option to repeat a previous entry into the same trip. I can see you can copy into a new trip but I can’t find an option to copy the same information to the next day for example or to another location in the same travel itinerary. I often just add an activity with nothing more than a title of LEISURE for when I dont have a specific thing planned at the time of creating the itinerary. For example staying in one location for seven days and I just create the LEISURE activity title for each of the seven days. It would be great to create one and say be able to copy that entry forward for several days. Another Suggestion: Option to move the entire trip to new dates for those occaisons where you need to cancel but still want to take the trip exactly as created but on a later start date. Auto adjusting all dates would be useful. COVID19 is a great example of having to cancel now but want to do the exact trip in the future.Great App though and I use it all the time for all our travel, business and pleasure.
We organise all our own overseas vacations. Flights, hotels, tours, restaurants. Normally a lot of fun exploring and booking via numerous websites. But always a challenge to consolidate. This App makes it simple. It is intuitive and provides both (a) a simple summary (b) the masses of hidden details You are eventually going to need. I’m a Mac user so one minor hack. TripIt won’t automatically import details from my calendar into TripIt. Whereas it will do so for some other calendar Apps. But you can forward emails to your TripIt account and it’ll import the details from your email. And of course, you can give access to any of your planned tours by allowing others access via entering their email as an approved viewer. Supplements your schedule by suggesting restaurants, tours nearby. Which is I guess where they earn their money. And indeed, good luck to them if it maintains this rather elegant and hugely useful App.
I’ve been using Tripit & Tripit pro for many years. I used to think it was great. One problem I have been having lately is that it defaults to airports and locations in the US. I know they think they ‘are’ the world. But there’s a whole other world out there. I try to change the destination but it’s time consuming and frustrating and doesn’t always work. As it has added + or - a day to my trip to a county I’m not going to, all my connecting bookings are also out of sync!I did like this app because it pre-filled the data from my reservation confirmation emails. All done, bingo, no fuss and bother for me. Now I spend ages trying to set destinations on my side of the hemisphere. If you’re in the Sthn Hemisphere start looking for an alternative app that works in the Sthn Hemisphere like I’m about to do.
The trip summary is fantastic to see a summary of your trip and one time it let me see I had gotten the dates wrong on a hotel booking - it saved me time and money if I hadn't identified this ahead of time. The app has many features for organising trips that have multiple locations/hotels/flights. You can have it automatically monitor your email inbox and it will add all travel & accommodation details into the app, alternately you can manually forward any emails you want added to the app. You can also manually add anything to a trip. They have perfected the free vs paid model - something that most other apps fail dismally at. Keep doing this well and you will keep growing in the future. The free version (which I have used for many years) works completely without restricting your use of the app or bombarding you with ads or videos. The paid version has extra features which benefit frequent travellers (as well as those that are time-poor) such as advising of gate changes and of lower fares become available for a flight, potentiality saving them a lot more money than the subscription price.
I've been doing excel itineraries for years but they only worked for small trips. As I start to plan a round the world trip I needed something to track flights, hotels, cars, tours and anything else happening along the way. TripIt has made my life super easy. Started using it in all trips big and small. The email to TripIt feature is wonderful and the ability to add loads of different items manually makes it a great all round tool. The free version worked great. Have just paid for the subscription only to get the travel notices once away from home. Both are great I highly recommend this tool. Have looked at others but standardized on TripIt.
