With its combination of casual city-building and farming fun, Township has laid-back written all over it. Made by developer Playrix, whose hits include Gardenscapes and Homescapes, the game has plenty of strategic depth and endless customisation options to dig into.

Players also love a bit of friendly competition! You can team up in co-op (unlocked at level 19) and participate in weekly and seasonal Regatta races. The goal is to complete tasks with your group to sail your co-op’s yacht further – you’ll gain points along the way to unlock chests full of rewards.
Few may know that the developers of Township have their own Regatta union and compete fairly with the community, once ranking 65,536th place in the tournament!
Getting started
It’s easy to get going thanks to the help of your first in-game friend, Ernie. You’ll start with guidance on growing a few crops, feeding your cows and building a factory ready for production.
This will bag you your first set of resources, which are essential for all operations. If you’re not sure where to find a resource you need for a task, tap and hold the relevant icon on the menu and you’ll automatically be taken to its place of production.
Before you know it, your humble farm will become a beautiful metropolis filled with lavish buildings and lush parks for your residents, all designed by you. Try adding some friends – you’ll get to take a look at their towns for inspiration.
