Platform out of darkness in Inmost

Experience an emotional adventure through the eyes of three explorers.

Turn off the lights and nestle up with Inmost, an emotional horror platformer soaked in atmosphere and rain that will put a chill down your spine. Play as a trio of characters to unravel a spooky story, challenge your puzzling chops and avoid the darkness chasing them all.

Immerse yourself in gorgeous pixel art and a chilling soundscape.

A puzzling nightmare

Inmost’s story is told using flashbacks and mysterious commentary as you explore its forbidding world. Each of the three characters must overcome traversal puzzles, spike traps, crumbling floors and hideous gooey shadow creatures, but each takes on the challenges differently.

As a lone little girl you use stealth and lateral thinking to open up new routes through hidden tunnels. As the mysterious bearded man, you’re able to jump higher and use items; you may re-arm a ballista to break through a wall or unlock a gate by fixing a broken lever. Finally, as the brave knight you can take the fight to the monsters, using your sword and a grapple line, combined with fluid touchscreen controls, to zip around levels.

Most hazards will kill you in one go (although the knight is a bit hardier), but restarts are generously placed and near-instantaneous, inviting you to be daring and experiment as you explore.

Use all the tools at your disposal to make your way through the nightmare.

Dark but beautiful

Inmost takes place in a monochromatic world of light and shadow. It’s lashing with rain, occasionally illuminated by flashes of lightning and scattered with hidden pockets of warmth that bring some homely atmosphere here and there. The darkened corners of its huge gothic ruins and abandoned homes are full of detail, making the world as gorgeous as it is creepy. You won’t want, or be able, to look away.
