Would you bet your life on your next arrow? That’s the idea behind A Kindling Forest, a charming auto-runner where your hero’s ammo and health are one and the same. Make spot-on shots to take down flying skulls, toxic webs and, eventually, an undead dragon.
What we love: Nailing incredible shots. Drawing your bow slows down time – allowing you to pull off astounding feats such as blasting a teleporter crystal just before you tumble into spikes or hitting a bullseye in mid-air to earn health-giving hearts.
Quick tip: Shooting downward propels you upward, letting you float safely above foes and obstacles. Combine this move with a jump-dash and you’ll cover plenty of ground quickly.
Meet the creator: As a high school teacher and father of two, solo game developer Dennis Berndtsson doesn’t have a lot of spare time – except during his train commute through Sweden’s lush landscapes. That’s where Berndtsson made A Kindling Forest over the course of three years, building worlds to the rhythm of the rails.
