Perhaps you already know that “AFK” stands for “away from keyboard”. But do you know how to best defeat savage monsters in AFK Arena? Master the epic idle RPG with this list of five tips – it’s some awesomely fantastic knowledge.

Diamonds are a hero’s best friend, but don’t waste them on gear you’ll surely outgrow. Instead, use them to summon new champions in the Noble Tavern. And don’t forget to crack open each new hero’s storybook to nab 100 free diamonds!

Have you levelled up a hero? Check their weapons and armour, and enhance low-rated items by sacrificing loot you don’t need. For maximum power, equip faction-specific gear to a matching hero.

Battling through the Arcane Labyrinth is an excellent way to earn diamonds, gold and XP. Early on, choose elite or legendary relics that give the entire team a sweet buff, such as increased damage or automatic healing.

If you’re having trouble beating some baddies, scope out the enemy’s formation and assign heroes with faction advantages. Wilders are great at clobbering Graveborn, while Lightbearers have an edge over Maulers.

Factions work well together too. Pack your squad with allies of the same faction to activate valuable perks. Three of a kind grants a 10 per cent boost to attack power and hit points, for instance. And Celestials are always a good fit – they’re like wild cards for faction bonuses!
