Alto’s Odyssey, the beautiful sequel to the serene snowboarding game Alto’s Adventure, has surfed over to Apple Arcade in a definitive new version.
Alto’s Odyssey: The Lost City introduces a lively biome alongside fresh challenges that will have you leaping across gaps, grinding rails, skidding down walls and racking up points the longer you last.
“The new content doesn’t call too much attention to itself, like ‘Hey, this is bonus content!’” says Land & Sea’s founder and the game’s lead artist, Harry Nesbitt. “It just flows.”
If you played the original version of Alto’s Odyssey (and have turned on iCloud save in the game’s settings), you can transfer your progress over to The Lost City. Just access Transfer Odyssey Progress from the settings screen, grab a board and hit the sand!
What we love: The gorgeous fourth biome, The Lost City, which you unlock by hunting down map fragments scattered across the first three vistas. Although tucked away in the desert, it’s not abandoned: the windows in its many buildings are aglow, and grindable ropes are lined with lit lanterns. Poke around and you might find some secret challenges!

Quick tip: Having trouble on a particular challenge, such as landing two double backflips in one run? Try changing your playable character. Maya has the fastest rotation speed of the bunch, making her great for nailing those quick flips.
Meet the creator: Co-developers Snowman and Land & Sea have collaborated on the Alto’s series since 2013.
