AI has the ability to change the way we approach everyday tasks – and Turkish developers have been at the forefront of this global trend, creating diverse apps that cater to various needs. Here, we’ve curated a list of some of our favourite AI apps that are making a significant impact internationally.
Codeway, founded in 2020 by Anıl Şimşek and Tolunay Tosun, is one of the most impactful developers emerging from Türkiye. Based in Istanbul, the company boasts a large and dynamic team, and quickly gained success with its chatbot app, Ask AI. Codeway has since diversified its offering, developing apps with specific intents and functions, such as Retake AI and Cleanup.
Look your best in every photo with Retake AI
What it does: Retake AI can tweak your portrait photo using previous ones you’ve taken and uploaded to the app. If you feel you’ve failed to capture the perfect moment – perhaps your eyes were closed or there was too much shadow – Retake AI can help you fix it.

Quick tip: When creating an AI profile, ensure you upload a variety of close-up portraits from different angles and with a range of expressions, hairstyles and lighting conditions. This will provide you with lots of options to base your edits on when the time comes.
Create more space with Cleanup
What it does: As the name suggests, Cleanup frees up valuable digital space by filtering out screenshots and duplicate images that can fill up your device’s storage. The app analyses photo and video details, including colours and angles, to highlight similar content. It even suggests photos where the user looks their best, making the elimination process feel more efficient and manageable.
Quick tip: It’s not just about photos and videos. Explore the tabs for duplicate Contacts and inbox-cleaning to free up more space on your device.
Hubx, founded in 2022 by Cem and Kaan Ortabaş, has a number of popular AI apps in its catalogue. Headquartered in Izmir, the company boasts a multi-city team and has launched titles that focus on music, education, productivity and creativity, including Note AI and Lean.
Take great notes with Note AI
What it does: Note AI helps you capture your thoughts by transcribing your audio notes or uploaded recordings into clear and organised text. With a tap, it turns your audio into a transcript of highlights and key information, making it easier to read in a structured way – in a huge range of languages.

Quick tip: If you’re studying, Note AI can be a perfect companion. Its cool Flashcard and Quiz features, nestled under the Note Tools button, extract essential information from your recordings and create exercises to help you test your knowledge.
Track your nutrition with Lean
What it does: Lean’s food-scanning features make keeping tabs on your nutritional intake a breeze. It separates food items on a plate, calculates their nutritional value and delivers a realistic calorie estimate. This counts towards your daily quota, which is calculated according to the stats and goals you provide when setting up your profile.
Quick tip: For packaged foods, you can also use the barcode-scanning function to pull nutritional data. Favourite the food items you consume frequently, then find them under Saved Foods for even speedier meal logging.
Appnation is also focusing its efforts on AI’s breadth of use cases. Founded in 2021 by Yalçın Özdemir, İbrahim Karahan, Saffet Arslan and Mustafa Ayten, the Istanbul–based company has developed useful apps such as Genie and Arch.
Ask Genie for (almost) anything
What it does: AI assistant Genie offers a range of capabilities you’d expect from an AI bot, including chatting, image creation and coding. Its strength lies in its ability to harness the power of multiple advanced AI models, such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude, combining their unique strengths to create a powerful AI portal for you.
Quick tip: To fine-tune your relationship with your bot, use the Create an Assistant option to set up a virtual helper for different scenarios you regularly consult. Give it a name, describe its focus, add an icon, set its tone and specify the length of responses. You’re all set!
Find inspiration with Arch
What it does: Arch allows you to visualise your living space – be it indoors, outdoors or a landscape – in different interior styles and design scenarios by taking a photo or uploading one. It’s great prep work for remodelling projects and decorating a new home or garden.

Quick tip: If you’re not looking for a complete redesign, you can also use the app to see how, say, a sofa in a specific style would look in your current design scheme using the Replace feature. Additionally, if you find a sofa you love while out and about, use the Furniture Search feature to source the item or something similar.
