  • Fun game, Career Mode logic is atrocious

    #howyouknow

Fun game, but the career mode general manager logic makes no sense. It took 3 seasons of batting .500 to go from AA to AAA, then in my first season of AAA I was batting .430 and the GM demoted me down to AA because I didn’t win the game (team was very good and heading to post season). Stuff like this ruins the game and the experience. Don’t waste your time with this if you want to play career mode. You have to be the best prospect in baseball history in order to have a chance at playing AAA ball.

  • Game Is great but could use a few updates

    Shane1456

This game is a amazing retro baseball game. But I think you can make some tweaks to make is even better. First, a option to pick whether one team is a cpu or if both are a cpu or if both are a player. CPU vs CPU, this would be a two teams versing but cpus controlling both much like how cpus control the team you verse. But in this you get to watch the teams play. Player vs Player, in this mode both teams are controlled by you or a friend next to you. In this mode you can choose to either pitch for both teams or hit for both teams. This mode gives more freedom to the exhibition mode. You should also be able to choose which which team is home and away in exhibition rather than you being away every time. Second, more customization. This is something needed in this game. We can customize team names but now we should be able to customize uniforms and player names. Uniform customized needs to be added in some form. This would allow so much more freedom and make the game like other top tier retro games. Make it so in franchise you can customize other teams too. I think as a option for people you can customize other teams players names, force trades between teams and cut players on other teams. All these features would be optional so you don’t have to do it and franchise can still be played the regular way but with more freedom. I think these changes can definitely make pixel pro baseball the baseball version of retro bowl and be a amazing game.

  • Potential…

    ThinkingBaseball

Love this game. Addicting, simple, easy to learn, hard to master. That being said, it does run its course fairly quickly. You hit in a game, you practice, you hit again… Or with dynasty mode, you hit and pitch and hit again. I think there are some easy to implement mechanics/features that would add significant depth. One, it would be great to have a box score after every game showing the players, their hits, rbi’s, errors, etc. Otherwise, it is hard to judge your team on a game to hame basis. Two, allow for control over base runners. I hit a deep drive ip the third base line and my character stops at first when i could easily make second or third. Additionally, allow for additional base running off of opponent errors. If they throw to first and the first baseman misses the catch, I want to benefit from the error. Three, please please please allow sac flys. If a runner passes home on a sac fly the run is not counted. It’s maddening. Four, some sort of simple upgrade mechanic for your players/designated hitter. This could make the practices more rewarding than just hitting for the sake of hitting! Five, some sort of reward for completing the optional hitting challenges given by your teammates coach and girlfriend. Money? XP? Anything is better than a “good job!” Six, make money useful for something. Buying new gear? Upgrading your team? Hiring/firing coaches? Something is better than nothing. Just some thoughts after playing for a few weeks.

  • Amazing hitting/pitching, could be perfect with some updates

    Trustywaffle

The pitching and hitting feel is really great in this game. It nails that experience, and that alone makes it one of the best mobile baseball games I’ve played. So good, in fact, that I am willing to look past some of the weaker aspects of the game like the bad fielding/baserunning AI and the game skips over some of the details of the game. The complete lack of bunting, sac flies, and ability to make throwing and baserunning decisions is a bit perplexing. The press-hold-release-tap throwing method for pitching feels great though, as well as the simple tap for hitting. I do wish the difficulties were a bit more balanced, my ideal would be normal difficulty pitching mixed with easy difficulty batting. On easy I was blowing out opponents 16-1 regularly, but on normal I found it near impossible to string enough hits together to score runs, but the pitching challenge felt about right. Should mention there are some light franchise mode elements, which I did enjoy. Nothing too overbearing, but it was fun delving in and signing players and customizing my team a bit. While I have a fair amount of complaints about the game, the core of it is really good and something to certainly build off of. I feel a sequel or some updates to this game could really make it the de facto best mobile baseball game. Well worth spending the $4 to remove ads, I’ve definitely gotten my money’s worth of enjoyment out of this game. Despite a few shortcomings it’s still the most fun I’ve had playing baseball on my phone.

  • No Updates!

    FutureNFLStar

The game is super awesome because of the franchise mode, something no other baseball mobile quite does as well. I like the game a lot but it feels like it has never been updated. The AI is some of the worst that I have seen the base runners especially it is usually fine but there are times where they turn back to go to the previous base even though they are almost at the base. Then thy get out for no reason. Also it feels like everything goes foul. If I am just off by a little bit it goes foul. Especially when I crush the ball too. I swear I have hit like 20 home runs in 5 games just to see them go foul. Also the pitching is a little too easy. Like the batters just won’t swing at all sometimes, it is weird. Also what is the point of having minors league teams if you don’t even use. As a major league team I can’t call anyone up from the minors. Whenever the draft happens the players just end up straight on the major league roster. I think that the fact that there is a franchise mode and the fact that it is not to hard to beat bad teams and very difficult to beat good ones is also a massive strength. The game could be improved so much just by making the AI not retarded. That being said the game has sky high potential, they just need to make it more realistic and clean to play. Especially if you are going to make us pay to get the full game.

  • Fun to play, missing key elements

    RichB711

This is a very fun, but still falls into the time waster category for me because of key items missing that should be a part of any decent baseball game. I love the pitching and hitting itself - easy to learn and complex enough to present a challenge without getting frustrated. It has an extensive features for trades, free agents, and playing with minor leagues. The unfathomable issue is that it doesn't present a box score for each game and you can't see any history for games other than the final score. Stats can be viewed by team, season or career, which is great. But game level stats are just a must have for any baseball game in my book. There is also no pinch hitting, no stealing, no ability to see player stats during the game. I could live without stealing I guess, but no pinch hitting? There are also key errors in how things are scored. I have players on my team with an OBP that is lower than their batting average. That is literally not possible if the scoring is being done correctly. Bugs crop up too - I have a starting pitcher I traded for and use every 5 days, but all his stats say zero, so I can't really gauge how well he's doing. There is also a glitch where the opposing pitcher sometimes starts a pitch and then resets, then quickly pitches again. That would be a balk, but is probably a bug. Also, they don't account for the infield fly rule, which has burned me with a double play on multiple occasions. Overall, though, I'm still playing so it must be pretty fun. If I could get a box score, pinch hitting, and they straighten out some of the incorrect stats and handling, I'd jump it to 5 starts.
