Ive played asphalt 8 over the past 6 years and i still find myself playing a lot. There are tons of cars, different classes of vehicles and lots of upgrades. they have "festivals" which is the racing equivalent of a battlepass, they last like 10 days so there's always something new and you can progress really fast. the only downside is there are some ads, and if you want to do extra events you need to buy the festival premium pass to get the specific cars to race. Ive had probably 4 different accounts over the years but i can earn cars so fast i dont even car about losing them. The physics of the cars are great, you can go like 300mph, but the online players have really good cars so wait a while to race them. Ive played on mobile and Microsoft Surface but im on Mac laptop currently, it makes my PC really hot sometimes but it reminds me to take a break. 9/10 would definitely recommend to all my friends (and I have done so)

So to really understand the full badness of the current version, we need to go back to before the golden winter update. Life was good, the game was perfectly fine, and cars were pretty easy to get. Mastery was still a thing, and the ability to get tokens through it made the game a lot less pay-to-win.But then the Golden Winter update came out.See, Golden Winter changed everything about the game, such as the graphics and look. It added avatars into the game, and outwardly made the game look better. But only outwardly.Now, Mastery is gone, and with it all chance of getting tokens outside of paying real money were pretty much gone. The only way left to get tokens was through Moto Mastery, the career option for bikes, but compared to the hundreds of tokens you could get through Mastery, the 25 tokens you get for completing a season were nothing. And yet the prices didn't change; in fact, they got higher. Where the Mercedes-Benz Silver Lightning was once 1,000,000 credits, now it was 5,000,000. What was once relatively difficult was now impossible. So if you're reading this and you haven't played the abomination that Asphalt 8 is today, don't. I would much recommend Asphalt 9 over Asphalt 8 simply because of how (relatively) easy it is to get cars. I know this is long but I'm really hoping that maybe, one day, Gameloft might hear the cries of the people and make the game fair again. Until then, I can only hope.

This game was good at the start, I know I only started playing since the update, but I do remember when my siblings would play this game in the past. I have lost my progress once and it took a week to gain it back. The cost of the cars has increased by so much. The fact that you need CARDS to upgrade my level C car is a complete turn off. And when they gift you 200k fusions, you realize that you can ONLY get a D class car. This Is really annoying, and plus, don't get me started with the little amount of tokens you get per race. I get less than 2,000 tokens. I know there's a reason why they let you triple or double up the total amount of tokens you got, but they almost never work for me. I play on laptop, doesn't work. I play on iPad, still no. On phone, don't even bring that up. The amount of tokens you get SHOULD be increased. We spend so much time trying to complete one level of those career tasks, and at least we get SOME money. Then we take multiple tries of trying to win a specific race in the career just to be rewarded 90 tokens? Jeez. Step up your game.
