I loved beta testing this app—thank you James Clear and Atoms team! The app has resolved the login/access issue. Not only that but I attribute this app to making me LOVE waking up in the morning to become a morning person. The interface of the app is calming and simple in the best way. The feeling of logging a habit it’s rewarding—holding an atom circle and, then watching it grow and feeling the slight power vibration of your phone—it’s a cool sensory experience as well as visual. Seeing how many days you’ve completed your habit, the ability to refine your habit as you learn more about how it works for you, has been a game changer. I finally found a sleep schedule that works for me!! The mindset content included with Pro is fantastic. Parts are fromThe book atomic habits, with new content ad well. I would love to use this app as a companion to reading, but it’s a great refresher on its own too. The daily lessons, which pop up each day you use the app are concise and impactful, so fits in to your routine easily. I also just love the library of content you can read if you are curious about any other topics during your habit journey. If you are looking for some help and accountability, I highly!! recommend this app for starting new habits, as well as breaking bad ones. Download it—you won’t regret it

Updated review: App is working well for me, now that I’ve learnt how to log my habit after the day has passed and can see the calendar to further track my habit. I personally find it quite motivating to see my progress. I use the free version which suits my needs at this time. I don’t always get to log in my habit right after I finish the habit because life gets busy. However, once a day has passed, there is no way to log that you actually completed the habit. This makes the tracker look inaccurate. Also, I wish I could see my habit in calendar style like Streaks does. The “calendar” shows up only when I log my habit and it only shows a week at a time. As such, it won’t help me review the past month for example to see if there is pattern (i.e. days I am more likely to miss my habit) which might indicate more about a failure of my process on that day compared to other days.

Pros: The design is sleek and motivating. I love the interactive feature of holding & pressing a habit and watching it grow while the pone vibrates —it’s both satisfying and encouraging to return the next day. I also appreciate the emphasis on attaching habits to identity, prompting deeper reflection on why I want to build a habit and the type of person I aspire to be. The new focus session feature is excellent. Timing my habits really works for me. The daily sessions and readings are short, motivating, and easy to digest. Cons: While I enjoy the app, the price is steep at $9.99 per month. Compared to other habit trackers that offer more features and unlimited habits for significantly less (e.g., $3 per year), this seems overpriced. I’d be willing to pay around $3 per month with some additional improvements. What I’d love to see soon: It would be great to have an accountability partner feature, where app users can connect with each other to share goals and provide support. I think that you can do a random matching, or users with similar goals. Rotating partners weekly would also be good, so it is not always the same person. I think this would foster a sense of community and support I’d love to track habits with multiple repetitions throughout the day (like drinking 8 glasses of water) and monitor progress easily. In the free version, offering users the ability to track up an additional habit (up to 3) after successfully building one might also be a nice incentive to keep going. I believe in the potential of the app, but I hope the pricing becomes more reasonable soon.

I am a huge fan of the Atomic Habits book. I have been hoping that James Clear would create his own app for years. His development team have made a good looking, intuitive and potentially helpful app. However, limiting users to only three habits is frankly a non-starter. I understand the thought behind setting fewer habits to increase your chance of success but many users have been employing James systems for years and want to be able to track more habits. And, quite frankly, the price for a subscription is way too high. This app is being priced at a similar price tag as things like Apple Music, and or video streaming platforms that will be used hours a day. those apps manage to make a profit, even though the cost that they must pay to content providers is immense and maintaining those platforms is incredibly complex and expensive. I understand the value to investing in yourself but, quite frankly, I can do more with a pencil and paper than this app allow me to do, and that would cost me nothing. I love the potential of this app, and will check back in the future to see if the price and feature set improve. I am hopeful that James will make this tool more accessible to average people by either lowering the subscription price or at least making it a one time purchase.
