Japan has been the birthplace for many video games that have gone on to become worldwide phenomena. Some started out as games from the beginning, while others had their origins in manga or anime.
In honour of our favourite games from Japan, we’re celebrating the characters and storylines that became so popular with players around the world.

Today, it’s the turn of One Piece Bounty Rush, a game in which you can battle for treasure with a boatload of unlikely pirates.

Who will you put in charge of looting? Who will stay behind to protect your hoard? It’s up to you to learn each character’s strengths and put them in a role where they’ll shine.

You’ll meet Luffy, Kid and Law from the Land of Wano Arc of the manga and anime series, as well as Kaido who was challenged by Luffy and his friends, his son Yamato and one of the Arc’s key characters, Oden.
Yamato, in particular, is a powerful fighter skilled at wide-range attacks. And his presence could turn the tide in moments that count.

From the Marineford Arc, you’ll find young Whitebeard, Rayleigh and Roger. Young Whitebeard has an overwhelming presence and can immobilise enemies, making him a singularly valuable ally. Young Rayleigh, on the other hand, can stun an enemy for five seconds, increase movement speed and deal damage that equals 30 per cent of the enemy’s maximum strength.
Each character you meet during your long voyage will have their own unique abilities and charms. And somewhere along the way, they’ll even reappear in the game, all grown up with a different set of skills. Now get ready for a bright, lively and action-packed adventure fit for a pirate.
