StellarStudios is the brainchild of three filmmakers in Nepal, Nayan Rai, Anjon Limbu, and Ashok Adhikari. Established in August of 2021, the film production house seeks to revolutionize the Nepali film industry by creating high-quality videos and content tailored to the Nepali audience. While working as freelancers, They wanted to create something new, something that would appeal to the Nepali audience and provide a unique style of film-making. 

The enthusiasm and commitment of each team member is driving StellarStudios to success. Their impressive track record of producing high-quality films like jhyale-chwona, sushant kc’s rishaune bhaye, baimani, yaad, coupled with their passion for creating content tailored to the Nepali audience. With a homely workplace with a kind maid and two dogs, is enabling them to have a comfortable workplace which in turn helps them to create creative and innovative videos.

The company is committed to creating content that reflects the values of the Nepali culture and the preferences of the local audience. To do this, they focus on comedies and witty videos, as this has been shown to be the most successful approach to capturing the Nepali viewer’s attention and interest.This approach also  allows them to analyze the Nepali audience, giving them a better understanding of their preferences and how to create content tailored to them.

At the same time, StellarStudios looks to promote and support filmmakers from all walks of life, investing in technology and education to ensure that Nepali filmmakers can keep up with the ever-evolving trends in the film industry. The team is also striving to create content that is relatable to the audience, rather than simply being entertaining.

The team at StellarStudios is made up of seven creative minds. Anjon Limbu is a talented video colorist who not only color grades videos but has experience in directing some projects too. Ashok Adhikari is a VFX artist and a Video editor who mostly focuses on post production of the projects. Nissim Gorkhali is responsible for production and office management, Nissim Shrestha is the assistant director and handles clients, she also helps in the creative side of the team with Anjon and Ashok. Lujan is a video editor who also works in post production and is supervised by Ashok. and Nayan Rai is the director. Most recently, Aditya was welcomed to the team as the cinematographer. The team works well together, leveraging each other’s skills and experiences to create high-quality films that capture the audience’s attention.

 As co-founder Ashok Adhikari puts it: “We want to leave our mark in the film industry, not just the commercial side.” With this goal in mind, StellarStudios is setting out to redefine the Nepali film industry.

When asked about the challenges in the Nepali film industry, co-founder Rai says (“a lot can be seen”). Despite the various obstacles they face in the industry, including lack of advanced technology, limited film education, and high investments required for the latest technology, StellarStudios is determined to break new ground.

It is not easy to make a mark in the Nepali film industry, and the team at StellarStudios faces many challenges. The team’s plans for the future are ambitious. Artistically, they hope to move beyond the commercials and music videos they’re currently making and create feature films. At the same time, they want to use their success to promote and support filmmakers from all backgrounds, providing them with the resources to hone their craft. This includes investing in technology and education, so that Nepali filmmakers can keep up with trends around the world.

StellarStudios has set out to revolutionize the Nepali film industry by reflecting the Nepali society and highlighting the significance of film-making. Through their organization, the co-founders are becoming influential figures in the industry, creating meaningful content that is tailored to the interests and experiences of their audience.
