At Touchmark at The Ranch, community doesn't stop at our front door. We're honored to recognize the volunteer efforts of our residents, who are helping lead the Yavapai Food Neighbors Project. Every two months, Touchmark residents collect and deliver dozens of green bags filled with nonperishable food to support eight local food banks, helping meet a growing need throughout Yavapai County. This partnership reflects something we see every day: our residents bring a lifetime of experience, generosity, and purpose to the communities where they live. At Touchmark, enriching people's lives extends beyond the walls of our communities. This year, residents, team members, families, and community partners across Touchmark united in support of the Alzheimer's Association, raising an extraordinary $139,120 through dozens of creative fundraising events. From concerts and car shows to fitness challenges, festivals, and community gatherings, each event reflected the passions and generosity of the people who made them possible. We're incredibly proud of the collective impact our communities achieved together and grateful to everyone who contributed their time, talents, and support. Every dollar raised helps advance Alzheimer's care, support, and research while honoring the millions of individuals and families affected by the disease. Sometimes, the most meaningful moments in community aren't planned. After more than 60 years apart, childhood friends Terry Anderson and Dan Kelly unexpectedly reunited in an elevator at Touchmark on South Hill. What began as a chance encounter quickly rekindled a lifelong friendship, leading to weekly coffee, fitness classes, friendly basketball competitions, and even plans to travel together. Their story, recently featured by The Spokesman-Review, is a wonderful reminder that community is about so much more than a place to live. It's about creating opportunities for meaningful connections, shared experiences, and moments that enrich our lives in unexpected ways. At Touchmark, those moments happen every day—and we're honored to be the place where Terry and Dan's remarkable reunion became the start of a new chapter in their friendship. Touchmark at The Ranch recently celebrated the addition of new Peloton bikes with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the start of the community's inaugural "Tour de Ranch" fitness challenge. The 30-day challenge brings together four teams of residents and team members in a fun, collaborative competition designed to promote health, engagement, and connection. At Touchmark, our Health & Fitness programs are about more than staying active—they're about creating opportunities for people to encourage one another, build relationships, and enjoy the benefits of a vibrant lifestyle. We're proud to see Touchmark at Georgetown featured in the Williamson County Sun as resident Grover Trytten celebrated his 105th birthday. A World War II veteran, former U.S. Army Air Corps First Lieutenant, engineer, and science teacher, Grover has lived an extraordinary life. His birthday celebration brought together family, friends, and fellow residents for an afternoon of music, memories, and gratitude—a reflection of the meaningful connections that define life at Touchmark.
