We were delighted to welcome Michael Claesson, Commander‑in‑Chief of the Swedish Armed Forces, to GKN Aerospace Sweden yesterday in Trollhättan for discussions on aircraft engines, defense capability and industrial collaboration.
Igår 28 april besökte överbefälhavaren Michael Claesson GKN Aerospace i Trollhättan för att ta del av svensk flygmotorindustri och diskutera hur industri och försvar tillsammans kan stärka Sveriges försvarsförmåga. – Försvarsmaktens utveckling är beroende av att vi tänker nytt och agerar snabbt tillsammans med svensk industri. Här på GKN Aerospace ser vi hur initiativ inom bland annat additiv tillverkning kan korta ledtider, öka tillgängligheten och stärka vår uthållighet. Den typen av innovationskraft är nödvändig för att möta morgondagens hot, säger överbefälhavare Michael Claesson. GKN Aerospace, har i nära 100 år haft en central roll i utveckling, tillverkning och underhåll av flygmotorer till svenskt militärflyg. I dag ansvarar bolaget bland annat för underhållet av motorerna till Gripen C/D och Gripen E, och arbetar samtidigt med nästa generations motorteknologier och motorsystem. – För oss handlar det om att vara en stabil och långsiktig partner till Försvarsmakten, samtidigt som vi fortsätter att utveckla ny teknik och nya förmågor. NHIndustries has signed the architecture study contract with NAHEMA - NATO HELICOPTER MANAGEMENT AGENCY for the NH90 Block 2 evolution! This milestone strengthens the long-term roadmap of the NH90 program and ensures full continuity with the Block 1 / Software Release 3 upgrade currently in execution. The contract, valued at 15 Million EURO, marks a significant investment in the future of the platform. The Block 2 architecture study will: 📍ensure industrial continuity, building on the progress achieved with Block 1; 📍be based on high-level requirements defined by NAHEMA and the Nations for the long-term future operational environment; 📍run for two years, in parallel with the ENGRT initiatives; 📍deliver key outputs enabling NAHEMA and the Nations to assess multiple evolution options aligned with their capability needs; The study will define a modular, scalable avionics architecture to enable rapid integration of future technologies.
