Michael Christopher is a music journalist, author, and historian who has spent years interviewing artists, covering concerts, and writing about the stories behind the music. Michael grew up in Philadelphia and received a Bachelor's Degree in journalism from Temple University. He travels entirely too much for music festivals and concerts.

Michael is the author of Depeche Mode: All That’s Left to Know About the World’s Finest Synth-Pop Band and Van Halen: The Eruption and the Aftershock. In addition to writing a syndicated music and lifestyle column for newspapers across the MediaNews Group network, his work has appeared in Ultimate Classic Rock, Metal Edge, Loudwire, LA Weekly, and numerous other publications. He's interviewed some of the biggest names in music, including AC/DC's Brian Johnson, Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi, Paul Stanley from Kiss, Sammy Hagar, Liam Gallagher of Oasis, Joy Division and New Order co-founder Peter Hook, Phil Anselmo, Billy Corgan, Glenn Danzig, and many more. A senior writer and founding member of Vanyaland, he is a frequent commentator on music and pop culture for radio, podcasts, and television programs, including The Story of the Songs and When Metal Ruled the 80s. He lives in New England and is currently researching his third book.

He also has a deep love of film noir and wishes the world were still in black and white.
