About Taylor Vollman
Taylor Vollman is a contributor at Collider. She has long quipped, “T.V. is my name, TV is my game.” Fortuitous initials aside, at the heart of a tired joke is a simple truth — she has a lifelong passion for television. And along with it, an affinity for movies, music and pop culture.
In a childhood time capsule, she had listed Friends, PB&J Otter, and Days of Our Lives among her favorite shows. But her tastes have not narrowed with age. Her viewing habits span TV Land classics, network hits, buzzy reality shows and streamer critical darlings.
Hoping to merge this passion with her love of writing, Taylor earned a bachelor’s in media arts and design with a minor in film studies from James Madison University. After working in marketing for years, she wanted to sharpen her skills and went on to graduate with a master’s in journalism from Georgetown University. Taylor has since pursued entertainment writing and reporting.
Favorite Media
Television has been the soundtrack of Taylor Vollman’s life, with no show on repeat more than Friends. Growing up, NBC’s Thursday Night Lineup meant pizza with her family while they waited for the latest episode to air. These days, she has to stumble across a rerun, pop in a DVD, or turn to HBO Max. But the results are the same — singing “I’ll Be There for You” off-key, laughing along with the Central Perk gang, and telling herself one more episode won’t hurt. Taylor also mixes in episodes of Psych, Bones, New Girl, The West Wing, and Gilmore Girls, along with whatever series is her latest obsession.
Also, an avid theater-goer, Taylor turns to the big screen to watch new Oscar-bait movies, superhero blockbusters, and animated releases. But in the fourth grade, Taylor’s older sister first showed her The Princess Bride and since, no other film has ever measured up. The Rob Reiner classic perfectly merges comedy, romance and epic adventure — genres Taylor seeks in other movies. Her other comfort watches include The Nightmare Before Christmas, Sweet Home Alabama, Titanic, About Time, Good Will Hunting and The Mummy.
Industry Experience
Taylor Vollman has been writing about film, television and pop culture for years. She was previously a contributor at Heavy, now Entertainment Now, where she predominantly covered Bachelor Nation and HGTV news. Before earning her master’s in journalism, she worked in marketing, where she also stretched her social media management and public relations muscles.
