Chris Pratt is best known for his roles in major sci-fi franchises like Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World. Despite the combined star power of Pratt and his co-star, Rebecca Ferguson, the film was shockingly unable to recoup its budget. However, Star-Lord had no plans of backing down, launching a rather successful comeback with the highly anticipated premiere of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the sequel to his 2023 video game adaptation, with the film grossing over $1 billion. That success follows its 2023 predecessor, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which grossed over $1.3 billion at the box office.

In June 2026, Apple TV recruited Pratt to star alongside Linda Cardellini in a new military movie, Way of the Warrior Kid, which will be released on the streaming platform later this year, on November 20. However, this is not the first time Pratt is taking on a lead role in a military project. The Garfield Movie star headlined a grounded military series that has become an all-time streaming success for Prime Video. In his role as James Reece, Pratt starred in the acclaimed Prime Video original series, The Terminal List, which expertly blends familiar tropes from popular projects like Alan Ritchson's Reacher and Keanu Reeves' John Wick. What Is 'The Terminal List' About?

The Terminal List follows James Reece, a well-respected Navy SEAL and team leader, as he deals with the aftermath of his entire team dying in a surprise ambush in Afghanistan. Following the violent death of his wife and daughter and his brain tumor diagnosis, Reece begins to suspect that the ambush in Afghanistan was no accident and that a greater conspiracy is at play. While The Terminal List was panned by critics upon release, it turned out to be a major hit with the fans. The show sits at a 41% from critics but a 94% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.
