In recent years, audiences have become accustomed to legacy sequels. As nostalgia grips the nation during difficult times, production companies capitalize by returning to beloved IPs for new stories. On August 13, Disney is jumping on the legacy sequel bandwagon with a long-awaited return to Camp Rock, the Disney Channel film series that helped put both the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato on the map. Camp Rock 3, directed by Veronica Rodriguez (The Slumber Party) and written by Eydie Faye, sees the aforementioned Jonas Brothers return as Shane, Nate, and Jason Gray of Connect 3, as they head to the titular Camp Rock on the hunt for a new opener for their major reunion tour.
It was already announced that, alongside starring, each of the brothers would executive produce the project alongside Tim Federle (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series) and Lovato. But now, just days away from Camp Rock 3 opening night, it has been announced by Disney that, alongside executive producing, Lovato will be reprising her role as Mitchie Torres in a cameo, with an image of the popstar and actress back in the role available to view below.

Camp Rock wouldn't be the same if it weren't providing a platform for fresh new talent, with the third installment lining up an exciting batch of hopeful future stars. The sister and brother duo Sage and Desi, who headline the movie, are played by High School Musical: The Musical: The Series star Liamani Segura and newcomer Hudson Stone, with other new arrivals including camp bad boy Fletch (Malachi Barton), cello prodigy Rosie (Lumi Pollack), drummer Cliff (Casey Trotter), Lark (Sherry Cola), Callie (Brooklynn Pitts) and Madison (Ava Jean). Maria Canals-Barrera is also returning as Mitchie’s mom, Connie.
