Airing on Fox in 2001, the spy thriller was successful by implementing the idea that fans could not miss an episode. 24 follows Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland), an intense and uncompromising agent for America’s Counter Terrorism Unit. What set this story apart from others of its kind was the structure. Each episode takes place in real time, with only an hour elapsing. With 24 episodes to a season, each one tells its story over the course of one full day. Modern television could never get away with this model, which is perhaps why the show has become popular on Apple TV’s video-on-demand.

21 Years Ago, Timothy Olyphant Cemented Himself as a Lovable Scumbag in This Raunchy Teen Comedy

Jeffrey Speicher

Movie Features

Timothy Olyphant

The Girl Next Door

Elisha Cuthbert

Emile Hirsch

The David Caspe-created ABC sitcom, over three seasons from 2011-2013, delivered zippy jokes, immaculately farcical constructions, and one of the best ensemble comedy casts in TV history. It was always a cult hit trying to be shoved into a mainstream box, never quite earning home run numbers for the network, but still loved to pieces by the fervent audience that did watch it, leading to lots of rumors and discussions of reunions, revivals, new seasons, and the like. Now -- finally! -- we're getting a reunion in the form of a virtual cast reading for charity (via Variety).

Goon 2 Red-Band Trailer Drops All of the F-Bombs

Matt Goldberg

Trailers

Jay Baruchel

Liev Schreiber

Red Band Trailer

Alison Pill

Kim Coates

Elisha Cuthbert

Seann William Scott

Goon

Wyatt Russell

Goon: Last of the Enforcers

This may come as a surprise, considering the show’s premise is, at first glance, socially progressive, detailing the relationship between Lizzy (24's Elisha Cuthbert), a successful lesbian living in Los Angeles, and Luke (2 Broke Girls' Nick Zano), her best friend and father to her unborn child, via a sperm donation. The series' bonafides are only bolstered by the fact that Ellen Degeneres, who was a devastatingly funny comedian a long time before she was talking with pre-adolescent presidential historians on daytime TV, serves as executive producer. Moment to moment, however, One Big Happy is nothing more than a familiar, by-the-books comedy, unoriginally structured and brazenly false even by today’s sitcom standards.

Elisha Cuthbert HAPPY ENDINGS Interview

Christina Radish

TV

Elisha Cuthbert

Happy Endings
