Ludwig became the new comfort detective show thanks to BritBox. Released in 2024, the series stars comedian David Mitchellas John "Ludwig" Taylor. The puzzle designer is thrown into a role of detective when his twin brother goes missing and Ludwig must impersonate him. The first season led to fans loving Mitchell's performance as Ludwig and now, in preparation for Season 2, which lands on BritBox on October 13, we have an exclusive new look at the Season 2 trailer! Which stars Fleabag's own Sian Clifford as the main suspect of the season!
Mark Bonnar joins the cast along with Clifford this season. Bonnar is set to play newspaper editor Gareth Fisher with Clifford as local MP Joanne Kemper. Other new cast members include Ben Ashenden as DC Ethan Cole and Rumi Sutton as DC Caitlin Sullivan. They're joined by the returning cast of Ludwig, which includes Dylan Hughes as Henry Betts-Taylor, Dorothy Atkinson as DCS Carol Shaw, Ralph Ineson as Chief Constable Ziegler, and Karl Pilkington as DI Matt Neville.
And it's a new adventure for Ludwig himself. This time around, he doesn't have to impersonate his brother and is a Crime Scene Consultant, working with DCI Russell Carter (Dipo Ola) to solve some of the more impossible cases that the police department finds. The issue is that because John is officially with the department, he cannot use resources to help look for his brother James, who is still missing. But what we see in the trailer is John working with his sister-in-law Lucy (Anna Maxwell Martin) to try to bring James home. With a mystery surrounding Joanne Kemper and James still missing, there are a lot of puzzles for Ludwig to try to solve.
