I couldn't stop giggling every time Sherlock was not allowed to tell what happened.
I think the explanation he gave in the end was the correct answer, but I loved how they didn't confirm it.
I think the bigger point of not allowing him to explain it was taking his power away since he was obviously reveling in his genius, but was oblivious to the pain others felt at his loss.
Not explaining it was one of the better choices the show made.
