Samrat Dutta gefällt dasSamrat Dutta gefällt dasIs there a better place to connect with developers than the WeAreDevelopers World Congress 2026 in Berlin? We don't think so. 🙌 This year, our Talent Acquisition team, together with our EGYM Technology and Wellpass colleagues, spent two days at a shared booth meeting developers from across the globe. People didn't just ask about our open roles; they wanted to learn how our products work and the kind of engineering that goes into building them. Those conversations kept going from the first session of the day all the way through the evening Booth Crawl. But that wasn't all. Our Software Engineers, Enris Nogare von Tein and Daniel Meilak, took center stage during the Hack Day, transforming a 300 kg shoulder press machine into a playable game of Pong and sharing how they turned a product demo into a production-ready solution. 🚀 Ready to build what matters? I don’t know his name . But this video brought tears to my eyes . Look at his commitments . Look at his honesty . Look at his dedication . It was important for him to return the change . Even when the train was catching up speed . That 10 Rs change wouldn’t make him rich. It wouldn’t help him own a bungalow . It wouldn’t help him own a car . But , it surely makes him a good human being. His hardwork , shows his commitments to run his family . To give the best education to his children . To slog it hard to bring smiles back home . Samrat Dutta gefällt dasSamrat Dutta gefällt dasYesterday I could get my mom here in Singapore to show her this beautiful part of the world, and right today I have decided to take her to show my office & city area. It's hard to express the emotions and happiness that she is feeling through. Imagine, the lady that has spent her whole life in the village and did not even see the airplane from a close angle. Yes, she became the first one from her generation to travel abroad and the second lady from my village (Of course first one is my wife). A pretty special moment for me and family. The only thing that hurts me is - wish my dad would have been around to experience this! I really urge people who are traveling/traveled to show the other beautiful part of the world to your parents, irrespective of the period you are traveling for. Trust me, their happiness can not be measured. I planned to bring my mom even before my travel to Singapore, this was there in my goal even before I traveled. I am always grateful to EY and EY Singapore!

Samrat Dutta gefällt dasSamrat Dutta gefällt dasSo after over 16.5 years at Google, I appear to have been let go via an automated account deactivation at 3am this morning as one of the lucky 12,000. I don't have any other information, as I haven't received any of the other communications the boilerplate "you've been let go" website (which I now also can't access) said I should receive. It was a (largely) wonderful 16 years, and I'm really proud of the work that I and my teams did over the years. I got to work with some great people and really help a lot of our users around the world in the Civics and Elections space. I was so incredibly fortunate. This also just drives home that work is not your life, and employers -- especially big, faceless ones like Google -- see you as 100% disposable. Live life, not work. One of my dad's favorite quotes for moments like this was from the Ballad of Sir Andrew Barton: "I'll lay me down and bleed a-while, And then I'll rise and fight again."

🚀 Why HTTP Status Codes Matter for Backend Developers Behind every API request, there’s a silent but powerful language spoken between the client and the server — HTTP Status Codes. These small numbers carry big meaning 👇 ✅ 200 OK → Everything worked perfectly, here’s your data ✅ 201 Created → A new resource was successfully created ⚠️ 400 / 401 / 403 → Client-side issues (invalid request, auth, permission) ❌ 404 Not Found → The requested resource doesn’t exist 🔥 500 Internal Server Error → Something broke on the server side Why this matters: Helps frontend & backend communicate clearly Makes debugging faster Improves API reliability and user experience Separates good APIs from great API design 👉 A good backend developer doesn’t just write APIs — they design meaningful responses. If you’re working with REST APIs, mastering status codes is non-negotiable. 💬 Which status code do you debug most often? — Saurav Singh AI

🧑💻 If you're building backend applications, knowing Docker is not optional anymore — it's a must-have core skill. From local development to deployment pipelines, containerization has become the standard way to ensure apps run the same across all environments. Most developers start with Docker Desktop, but real-world deployments often run on headless servers, where there is no GUI. That’s why learning Docker CLI commands is far more valuable than relying only on the Docker Desktop interface. To help with that, here’s the official Docker CLI Cheat Sheet (shown in the image below) — a quick reference to the commands every backend or DevOps developer should be familiar with. It includes essentials like: ✅ Building and tagging images ✅ Running containers with port mapping ✅ Checking logs and container status ✅ Executing commands inside containers ✅ Pushing/pulling images from Docker Hub ✅ Cleaning up unused resources Some of the most frequently used commands: docker build -t app . docker run -d -p 8080:8080 app docker ps -a docker logs -f container_name docker exec -it container_name sh If you're working with microservices, cloud deployments, or CI/CD, mastering these basics will save you hours of troubleshooting. 📌 Official cheat sheet shown below — feel free to save it for reference. #Docker #BackendDevelopment #DevOps #CloudNative #SoftwareEngineering #Microservices #LearningInPublic

System Design is the language of scale and every engineer needs to speak it. I’ve created this 1-page Quick Guide to help you decode complex system design topics at a glance. Why does it matter? ✅ Big tech interviews are incomplete without system design ✅ Real-world systems break if you ignore concepts like latency, replication, or retries ✅ And whether you're working on backend, infra, or cloud — system design is the glue that holds your solution together This visual distills everything into 5 core sections: 🧠 Core Concepts — From CAP theorem to vertical vs horizontal scaling 🧩 Key Components & Tools — Load balancers, databases, object stores, CDN, containers, service mesh ⚙️ Reliability & Fault Tolerance — Health checks, chaos testing, retries, failover logic 📊 Monitoring & Observability — Tracing, logging, metrics, dashboards 📐 Design Patterns — Circuit breaker, BFF, bulkhead, event-driven flows You’ll also find foundational system terms like rate limiting, cold start, session stickiness, service discovery, and more — all mapped for clarity. 🧭 Whether you're a: Developer preparing for interviews Tech lead managing architecture Or someone transitioning to system design This guide will help you think better, build smarter, and scale with confidence. 👉 Save, share, and comment below if you want deep dives on any of these blocks. Let’s make system design simple — and scalable.

Concurrency vs Parallelism 👇 These two concepts are often used interchangeably, but they represent very different ideas in system design. Understanding the distinction is essential for making the right performance and architectural decisions. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 ◾ Focuses on managing multiple tasks. ◾ Tasks overlap in time, even on a single CPU core. ◾ Improves responsiveness and task organization. ◾ Well-suited for I/O-bound operations such as waiting for files, APIs, or databases. ◾ Example: A single worker handling several tasks by switching between them as each one waits for something. 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺 ◾ Focuses on executing multiple tasks at the same time. ◾ Requires multiple CPU cores or processors. ◾ Targets higher computation speed and throughput. ◾ Well-suited for CPU-bound workloads such as calculations, data processing, and image rendering. ◾ Example: Several workers performing different tasks at the same time. Simplified Comparison ◾ Concurrency = Managing multiple tasks. ◾Parallelism = Executing multiple tasks. __________ ♻️ Reshare if you found this helpful. ✅Follow Jafar Muzeyin for daily tips 📺 Watch more on my YouTube channel: [https://lnkd.in/eBmq2kuY] Reference -> ByteByteGo

Every new system starts the same way. Someone says: “Let’s make it a proper REST API.” REST is great. It has real principles: statelessness, cacheability, client–server separation. And for public, data-centric APIs, it fits perfectly. But REST is resource-driven. Resources are nouns. Products. Customers. Orders. HTTP verbs act on them. That’s CRUD. If your API is mostly CRUD over data, fine. Databases already do that extremely well. Sometimes fewer layers beat elegant diagrams. Something like Nginx + PostgREST does the job with fewer moving parts and fewer things to break. The problem starts when the system is about business processes, not data. Approve a loan. Cancel a subscription with rules. Recalculate pricing. Trying to force this into REST usually ends in URLs that feel… negotiated. At that point, REST feels like running a workflow by opening and closing folders. (g)RPC exists for a reason. RPC lets you model behavior, not furniture: ApproveLoan CalculatePrice CreatePublication And no, you don’t lose architecture. You still have client–server separation, layering, statelessness. You intentionally drop the uniform interface because clarity matters more. One more thing: internal APIs ≠ external APIs REST can be great outside. Inside your system, gRPC, messaging, and commands often fit better. REST isn’t bad. It’s just not a default. Choose the style that matches the problem, not the one that looks best in Swagger.
