‘Paris is Always a Good Idea’
Lauren Conrad may always be known as the girl who didn’t go to Paris, but that’s certainly not the case for Lacey Chabert’s Chelsea Martin in the new Hallmark+ series Paris is Always a Good Idea. Based on Jenn McKinlay’s 2020 novel of the same name, the six-part limited series follows Chelsea, an ambitious workaholic employed at the American Cancer Coalition. While setting out to land a historic donation from a French cosmetic company, she is asked to head to Paris, a city that only reminds her of her late mother and her three loves who she had to leave behind during her gap year abroad. With the support of her sister (Rebecca Hanssen) and her father (Henry Czerny), Chelsea decides to say “oui oui” to Paris, and to the prospect of reconnecting with the three men who could have been the one. But when her colleague and adversary (Scott Michael Foster) is also sent abroad with her to team up on the account, things get messier than your lap after eating a flaky croissant. With beautiful locales and heartwarming performances, Hallmark is turning a new page with their take on the YA book-to-TV adaptation—and it’s one we want to keep reading.
