Storage
When you purchase a Business or Commerce plan on WordPress.com, your site includes 50 GB of storage, with the option to add more if needed. Uploaded images and files are stored in the Media Library and directly impact your site’s storage space. The guides below will show you how to check your current storage, increase your limit, and free up space when necessary.
WordPress.com also automatically compresses your site’s CSS, HTML, and JavaScript files using Brotli. If a visitor’s browser doesn’t support Brotli, gzip is used instead. You don’t need to set anything up—compression is built in, can reduce file sizes by over 60%, and helps your site load faster. Note that this applies only to code files, not images.
Get more storage space
If you need more storage than what’s included with your plan, you can purchase additional space through the Storage Add-on.
Troubleshooting image uploads
If you’re having trouble uploading images to your site, this guide covers common issues and how to fix them. It also shows you how to check your remaining storage, so you’ll know if it’s time to upgrade.
