OpenLibrary

[edit]

Hoi, many books are available for reading at openlibrary, it is a project of the InternetArchive. Many identifiers for many authors are available at Wikidata.. The proposal is to include them in this template. Thanks, GerardM (talk) 09:21, 25 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

How discover the authority control for a topic?

[edit]

I created new article Dagu Bridge, and I want it to be connected to Chinese Wikipedia article on the same bridge at https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E5%A4%A7%E6%B2%BD%E6%A1%A5 I've tried clicking on the "Add language" button at top right, but I cannot get that to work. Adding an authority control ID will also work, correct? How do I find an authority control ID for this bridge (built in 2002). Noleander (talk) 15:41, 5 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The item Dagu Bridge (Q10936321) https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q10936321 on Wikidata manages all the things you want. I've connected the articles already and added the template authority control. Grimes2 15:59, 5 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, thanks. So, in the future, I will go to Wikidata and use their "Search" capability to find the QID. Noleander (talk) 20:07, 5 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that is normally the easiest way. The "Add interlanguage links" link (in the sidebar) works well if you know the exact title on the other wiki — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 14:58, 8 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Libraries Australia

[edit]

Suggest removing Libraries Australia ID (P409) from the template because it seems to be permanently down — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 19:44, 20 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Agree, is probably superseded by NLA Trove people ID (P1315). Grimes2 15:39, 21 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
