GAZA, October 9, 2025 (WAFA) – Four Palestinians were killed on Thursday evening in an Israeli airstrike targeting the al-Sabra neighborhood in southern Gaza City, bringing the day’s death toll in the Gaza Strip to 29, according to medical sources.

The airstrike, which hit a residential area in central Gaza despite the recently announced ceasefire agreement, also left 40 people missing, with search and rescue efforts ongoing.

The Gaza Strip has endured over two years of devastating Israeli aggression that has destroyed infrastructure and claimed tens of thousands of lives, the majority of whom are civilians, including children and women.

This latest attack occurred despite the recent announcement of a ceasefire agreement—which is expected to take effects in a few hours—brokered by the United States, Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey. The deal includes provisions for halting hostilities, withdrawing Israeli forces, allowing humanitarian aid, and facilitating a prisoner exchange.
