Unbranded10 hours agoTrump Declared A Favorite For Nobel Peace Prize, Despite Iran WarUnbranded - unbranded - NewsworthyUS President Donald Trump has been declared the favorite to win the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, according to a UK betting company, despite waging war in Iran. Lee Phelps, a spokesperson for UK bookmaker William Hill, says that Trump’s odds of winning the prestigious prize are on the rise. This comes despite the continuation of war in the Middle East, started by both the US and Israel, which shows no signs of slowing down, despite Trump’s claims that peace talks continue. “Although the Norwegian Nobel Committee have not confirmed that Donald Trump is among the 287 candidates for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, we make Trump the leading contender to take this year’s award,” spokesperson Lee Phelps said, according to Mediaite. Trump has been vocal about his desire to receive the award, complaining after last year’s went to Venezuelan politician María Corina Machado. Machado, however, did award Trump her medal, saying it was a recognition of his commitment to her country’s freedom, after he seized Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro. Phelps says the betting company has priced Trump at “3/1 to claim the 2026 prize– a 25 percent chance,” which he says “is a longer price than we quoted late last year.” Trump has been nominated for the prize by several world leaders, including allies and fellow war collaborator, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In March, Trump told the Washington Examiner that he is not “interested” in the prize, citing the war in Iran, later backtracking, claiming that if he doesn’t secure the prize, “nobody will.”
