3 hours ago comment added Mark @hb20007, roguelikes have randomized maps, but there are generally no hard barriers between you and the way down on each level -- you can simply do the minimal amount of exploration needed to find it, rather than clearing the level and finding all the hidden goodies.
9 hours ago comment added Time4Tea @hb20007 I'm not sure, I haven't played the game. The location may be randomized, but I'm not sure.
9 hours ago comment added hb20007 Is that possible, though? Is the teleporter always near the starting location?
15 hours ago comment added Time4Tea @hb20007 it depends what you mean by 'finish'. If the player runs through the first 6 levels as fast as possible, straight to the teleporter down, then does that constitute 'finishing' them? (if the player only sees 2-3 rooms on each level)

2 days ago comment added hb20007 I believe there's a big difference between having to finish the initial dungeon and having to finish all the dungeons.
2 days ago comment added Time4Tea E.g. even if in Elder Scrolls 1, you were able to go and fight the end boss straight away, would the fact that you have to first escape from the initial dungeon before doing so discount it?
2 days ago comment added Time4Tea @hb20007 I think it depends on what you mean by 'facing the final boss whenever you choose'. The game certainly seems to let the player choose their pace through the game and at what stage of character development to face the end boss. However, no, I doubt the end boss can be accessed right from the start of the game, at level 1 before doing anything else. If that is what you meant, it might be good to clarify that in the question.
2 days ago comment added hb20007 Does the game really allow you to get to the final boss whenever you choose? I checked some gameplay footage and it seems that visibility is quite limited and the levels are mazes. I suppose that you need to play through each level and find the teleporter to go to the next one. If it's only about having the choice to go to the next level without exploring 100% of the current level, then it might not be what I'm looking for.
