GitHub repo readme content blinks when viewed in the android app

I happened to notice a bug when viewing https://github.com/jesseduffield/lazygit/blob/master/README.md in the official Android GitHub app - the readme content blinks repeatedly, making it unreadable. This only occurs through the GitHub App, not when viewed in a web browser. The most recent version of the readme this has been verified to occur on is https://github.com/jesseduffield/lazygit/blob/cb719c11c53dacdf92d12115f6450bdfaa8f2b3f/README.md , though later revisions to the file may still have the problem and just haven't been tested by me yet.

Info:
App version - version 1.242.0 (899) OS SDK v36
Phone - Pixel 9, Android 16 with January 5 security update

To answer your question about where to report this: Yes, there is a better place specifically for App bugs.

While posting here gives visibility, the engineering team needs device logs to fix rendering glitches like this. The most effective way to report it is directly inside the app:

1. Go to your Profile tab in the app.
2. Tap the Settings (Gear icon) in the top right.
3. Scroll down and select "Share Feedback".

This automatically attaches your specific device info and logs, which helps them fix UI flashing issues much faster than a community discussion. I'd recommend submitting it there as well!

@ayushraistudio that method is how this discussion was created in the first place, "share feedback" takes me to this discussions area, with a "+" in the upper right to create a new discussion. Is this not what I am supposed to have seen?

Hey @bananastalktome , I don't think , it is an issue related to github android app or ios app , i also eventually use github mobile app but didn't faced this, but you can try reinstalling it or may be clear cache memory.

I've tried that, I also made a fork of the repo and changed the relative readme image src's so it accurately reflected the original repo, and the problem still occurs. From some basic testing, it seems to have something to do with the width of the https://github.com/jesseduffield/lazygit/raw/assets/subble.webp image in the readme file - when the image width is set to something small like 100, it doesn't seem to have the weird blinking problem, but left at 400 it blinks (though this may not be the root cause of the problem, it's just something I noticed in some basic testing)

Maybe it has something to do with the Pixel 9 screen width and how the image is trying to scale or something? Hopefully someone else with a Pixel 9 device (or other devices?) can try to replicate the problem.
