Hello GitHub Support Team,

My GitHub account appears to have been flagged or restricted:

I submitted an appeal more than two weeks ago, but I have not received any response yet. I am writing to kindly ask whether someone could review my case or let me know if any additional information is needed from my side.

This account is important to me because it contains my personal and research-related repositories. The restriction has affected my ability to access or manage my repositories normally, including repository transfer and visibility.

I believe this may have been a mistake. If any content or activity on my account violated GitHub’s policies, I would be happy to fix or remove it immediately. I respectfully ask for a review of my account and guidance on what steps I should take to restore it.

The account https://github.com/Yuanhong-Zheng returns a 404 now, so it does appear to be suspended/flagged.
A few things to try while waiting for GitHub Support:

1. Reply to your existing ticket — Even a simple "Still waiting, any update?" bumps the ticket in the queue. GitHub's support backlog has been 2-4 weeks lately for appeals.
2. Check the email you submitted the appeal from — Make sure you got an auto-confirmation with a ticket number. If not, you may need to resubmit. The appeal form is at:

3. Try tweeting @githubsupport — Public tweets often get a faster response. Be brief and include your ticket number.
4. If you have a paid plan — Billed users usually get priority. Mention your billing email if applicable.
5. For repository access in the meantime — If you have the repos cloned locally, your local git history is safe. If you contributed as a collaborator to other repos, those contributions remain but you won't be able to push new ones until the account is restored.
6. Check if it's a DMCA/ToS issue — GitHub usually sends an email explaining why an account was flagged. Check spam folders for emails from support@github.com or dmca@github.com. If it's a DMCA takedown, you need to file a counter-notice. If it's a ToS violation, the appeal is your path.
   The 2+ week wait is unfortunately normal right now — GitHub has been slow on appeal responses. Don't resubmit a new appeal (it resets your place in queue). Just reply to your existing ticket thread once a week to keep it active.

If your account is flagged and your appeal is delayed, escalation usually works better with complete context in one message:\n\n- Username + email on the account\n- Date appeal was submitted\n- Any ticket/case IDs\n- Screenshot of the flagged banner\n- Confirmation you reviewed and comply with GitHub Terms\n\nThen contact Support directly and reference your existing appeal so they can merge cases instead of resetting the queue: https://support.github.com/request\n\nAlso avoid creating additional accounts while waiting, since that can slow resolution.
