Drools, in association with IAVD, conducted a webinar on “𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐏𝐲𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚: 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰,” led by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐨𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐥. The session brought together veterinary professionals for a focused discussion on the diagnosis, treatment and responsible antimicrobial management of canine pyoderma. Key takeaways from the webinar included: - Accurate diagnosis comes first skin examination and cytology are essential before initiating antibiotic therapy. - Look beyond the infection pyoderma is often secondary to underlying conditions such as allergies, parasites, endocrine disorders or other predisposing factors. - Topical therapy has an important role and should be considered as a first-line approach wherever clinically appropriate. - Culture and antimicrobial susceptibility testing (ABST) become particularly important in recurrent, deep or complicated cases. - Correct dose, duration and timely rechecks are critical to achieving treatment success while supporting responsible antimicrobial use. - Pet parent education plays an equally important role in ensuring treatment compliance and reducing recurrence. The webinar reinforced an important message for clinical practice: effective pyoderma management is not only about treating the infection, but also about identifying the cause and choosing therapy responsibly. We thank Dr. Mohanambal, IAVD and all the veterinary professionals who joined the session and contributed to the discussion. At Drools, we remain committed to supporting the veterinary community through knowledge-sharing initiatives that encourage better clinical decision-making and improved pet health outcomes. 𝐈𝐧 𝐯𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭. That set the tone for the third session of the 𝐃𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 𝐕𝐞𝐭 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬, led by Sahil Mehta, with an engaging discussion around 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐨𝐠𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐬. Starting with the fundamentals of blood groups and compatibility, the session moved through the practical considerations that veterinarians encounter during transfusion therapy, including: -Blood typing and cross-matching -Whole blood and plasma transfusion -Calculating transfusion requirements -Collection, preparation and administration considerations -Recognizing transfusion reactions and potential complications, including acute hemolytic reactions and TRALI What stood out was the interaction throughout the session. Questions from participating veterinarians around transfusion volumes, protocols and learning resources reflected a strong appetite for knowledge that can translate into clinical practice. At Drools, we believe advancing pet healthcare also means creating spaces where veterinary professionals can exchange knowledge, discuss clinical challenges and continue learning together. A sincere thank you to Dr. Sahil Mehta for sharing his expertise, and to all the veterinarians who joined us and contributed to the discussion. Every dog parent has seen it. The day your dog seems a little low, skips a meal, or just isn't quite themselves. It is easy to put it down to a bad day. Most of the time, the real answer starts in the gut.

Nearly 70% of a dog's immunity is built there. Not overnight, but meal after meal, over years. That is exactly why gut health has always been central to how we build our food at Drools.

Low energy. Dull coat. Irregular digestion. Small signs, but they usually point to one place.

A gut that works well shows up everywhere, easier digestion, a healthier coat, stronger immunity, steadier energy through the day. That is what every Drools bowl is built to support.

That is the difference a well fed gut makes. Quiet, but it shows up every single day.

We came to MSAVA - Malaysian Small Animal Veterinary Association 2026 with an answer, as a Gold Sponsor alongside Pets Corner Malaysia. Quality ingredients, clinical thinking, and nutrition built to hold up in a consult room, not just on a shelf. Two days in Kuala Lumpur. Speakers and veterinary professionals from Malaysia and around the world. Oncology, palliative care, feline medicine, orthopaedics, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, and more, all under one roof. For us, the real work happened between sessions. Exchanging perspectives with vets on therapeutic nutrition. Talking through how clinically focused nutrition becomes something practices can actually use, not just something specialists know about.
