  • Most people see the radar, fighter jet, or warship. What they don’t always see is the electronics powering them. That’s where our pick of the week, Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL), comes in. India’s largest domestic electronics manufacturer is a key supplier of radar, communication and electronic warfare systems to the armed forces. As of July 1, 2026, BEL had an order book of ₹72,258 crore, giving it strong revenue visibility. In Q1FY27, revenue grew 24.9% YoY to ₹5,547 crore, while net profit rose 8.7% to ₹1,054 crore. With strong R&D, zero debt and a growing defence opportunity, BEL is our Pick of the Week. • Four big numbers this week. Not one of them told the full story. > Meta paid $16.7 billion. Stock went up. > Nvidia added $435 billion in a day. Gave back half the next day. > Salesforce beat earnings by a mile. But $2.53 of the $5.90 didn't come from selling software. • Three companies. Same billions. Three completely different verdicts. > Walmart spent billions on shoppers. Fell 9%. > Alibaba's cloud grew 45%. Profit fell 75%. > Micron bet $10B on chips that don't exist yet. Stock went up. The money wasn't the deciding factor. The story was. PAT up 633%. That’s exactly why it caught our attention as HDFC SKY’s Pick of the Week. Q1FY27 saw: → Revenue up 91.8% → EBITDA up 512.1% → Adjusted PAT up 633.1% Plus, exports now make up ~51% of revenue, with an additional 18,000 KL capacity coming up at Silvassa. Prime Research’s view: ₹280 base case | ₹300 bull case vs ₹250.43 LTP as of 21 August 2026. Big numbers. Bigger story? Read the full research to find out. Building for traders who trade in seconds There are very few digital experiences where a few seconds can materially change the outcome. Trading is one of them. For an active trader, an idea can be right and the execution can still be late. A price moves while you switch between the chart and order window. A stop-loss takes a few extra steps to place. A target gets added only after the position is already live. Individually, these seem like small moments of friction. In a fast-moving market, they aren't always small. This becomes particularly important with scalping. Essentially, scalping is a style of trading built around capturing relatively small price movements over short periods of time, often through multiple trades during a session. That makes speed important, but speed alone isn't the objective. The trader also needs to know the risk, define the exit and act on the opportunity without losing context. That creates an interesting product challenge: How do you reduce the distance between seeing an opportunity, deciding on a trade and managing its risk? That question has shaped the Scalper Mode experience we have introduced on the HDFC SKY trading app. Instead of treating charting, execution and risk management as separate activities, Scalper Mode brings them closer together. Traders can view Call, Spot and Put charts together, select ATM, OTM or ITM strikes and execute directly from the same workspace. Stop-loss and target can be defined while placing the trade, with estimated profit and loss visible before execution. For traders who prioritise speed, 1-Tap Mode allows an order to be placed with preset percentage-based stop-loss and target levels. And with Visual Order Management, those levels can be viewed and adjusted directly on the chart. The experience is available across desktop and mobile because markets don't become slower when you step away from your desk. Building this reinforced something I find increasingly important in product design: Speed isn't always about making a product do things faster. Sometimes, it's about removing the things a customer shouldn't have to do at all. For active traders, every click we can thoughtfully remove is one less moment between intent and action. That is the thinking behind Scalper Mode on HDFC SKY. If you're an active trader, check it out and let us know what you think. #ProductManagement #ProductDesign #Trading #CapitalMarkets #Fintech #DigitalProducts #UserExperience #TradingTechnology #HDFCSKY #Innovation

  • Markets hit pause after two winning weeks. Sensex fell 0.6% and NIFTY slipped 0.8%, but midcaps managed to stay in the green. Realty was one of the brighter spots, while domestic money stayed strong with DIIs adding ₹18,447 crore in the August series so far. Globally, Japan stood out with the Nikkei up 4.5%, while Hang Seng fell 2.2%. Back home, results from Rubicon Research, Patanjali Foods and Voltas gave investors a few numbers worth noticing. For NIFTY, 24,600–24,770 is the zone to watch next, with 24,200 acting as support. Two green weeks ended. Now, the next move needs a fresh trigger.
