Protests erupted in Kathmandu after the government imposed a sweeping ban on 26 social media platforms, including X, WhatsApp, and YouTube. Thousands of young demonstrators took to the streets demanding digital freedom and accountability. Security forces responded with live ammunition, rubber bullets, and tear gas, leaving at least 14 people dead and dozens injured. A curfew has been enforced across key districts as tensions remain high. The violence highlights growing anger against censorship and deepening mistrust between Nepal’s youth and state authorities. "Along with our Ladki Bahins, their husbands and relatives also voted for us. The percentage of voting increased. So this is also an insult to those who voted for us," said Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister #EknathShinde in our #IdeaExchange Shinde added: "When they win votes, then they say everything is fine, EVM is fine, voter list is also fine. In Lok Sabha, did we say that they stole the votes? They got more seats in Lok Sabha, didn’t they? They spread a fake narrative that the Constitution is in danger." Kathmandu saw one of its most dramatic uprisings in years today (Sept 8) as largely Generation Z crowds rallied against the govt. The spark was a ban on 26 social platforms — including Facebook, #Instagram, WhatsApp, #YouTube, X and Snapchat — alongside anger over corruption allegations. Authorities said companies that refused to register and accept oversight would be blocked; a bill before #Parliament seeks to make platforms “properly managed, responsible and accountable”, including a local liaison office. #TikTok, Viber and 3 other services remained online after registering. Protesters surrounded Parliament, pushed through barricades and clashed with police, who fired tear gas and water cannon. A curfew was announced around Parliament, the govt secretariat, the presidential house and key areas of the city. Rights groups called the move a curb on free expression and warned of wider censorship.

From Sept 22, your delivery bill changes. Restaurant food stays at 5% GST, but if delivery is routed through platforms (Zomato/Swiggy), the delivery service itself draws 18% GST. If the restaurant delivers with its own riders (think Domino’s or a neighbourhood place that sends its own courier), that 18% on delivery doesn’t apply. What it means on a typical order: Food Rs 400 + delivery Rs 50. Via platform delivery: Rs 20 GST on food + Rs 9 GST on delivery = ₹29 GST. Direct/own delivery: Rs 20 GST total. Platforms are already reassessing delivery fees as they factor in the 18% levy, so watch those charges. Flip through the slides, compare before you pay, and check who’s actually delivering. A missing-person report. A daughter’s accidental discovery. A neighbour next door. What began as a routine complaint in Gurgaon spiralled into a chilling tale of secrecy and betrayal—pieced together from call logs, late-night chases, and a body found in the fields of Sector 36. “Woh ekdum toot gaya,” an officer recalls— words that changed the tone of the probe and cracked open a plot stitched in silence. How did an intimate video, a one-minute phone call, and a carefully timed “missing” complaint fit together? What did investigators find on a handset—searches replayed “over and over”—and how did it all lead back to that July night? Swipe through the cards, then read our full investigation for the timeline, the voices, and the unanswered questions that still hang in the air.
