Use Jetpack in your language

Activate a different language

To use Jetpack in a different language from its default English, follow these steps:

  1. Install WordPress in your own language
  2. Jetpack will automatically switch to your language, as long as a translation file is available.
  3. If Jetpack dashboard pages in WP Admin aren’t being translated, please visit Dashboard > Updates in WP Admin and ensure your site’s translation files are up to date.
  4. If that doesn’t help, you can check the Jetpack entry for Glotpress to see whether your language is fully translated under the “Stable” column. If it’s not fully translated, then you may still see untranslated or English content.

Improve our translations

If you find untranslated words or phrases (sometimes called “strings”) in Jetpack, you can help us translate them by following these steps:

  1. Create a WordPress.org account if you don’t have one already. (This will be different from your WordPress.com account or the login credentials you use to log in to your website.
  2. Suggest new translations in WordPress’s collaborative translation too, GlotPress.
  3. GlotPress validators will have a look at your suggestions, and approve or change them if necessary.
  4. Once your translations have been approved, they will be shared to everyone using WordPress in your language.
  5. If you don’t see the string you’re looking for on the Jetpack translation page linked above, try looking in the WordPress.com GlotPress project to find the strings to translate.

Thank you for your contribution and for helping us fly Jetpack around the world!
