Promoting healthy sleep habits

Participating journal: BMC Public Health

BMC Public Health called for submissions to our Collection, Promoting healthy sleep habits. Sleep is essential for overall health, affecting both body and mind. However, many people struggle with sleep disorders and poor sleep habits.

Poor sleep is linked to health issues like obesity, heart disease, and mental health problems. Recent research highlights the importance of good sleep hygiene such as regular sleep routines and a good sleep environment. Public health campaigns are also needed to raise awareness and educate people about the importance of sleep, helping them to adopt better sleep practices.

This Collection aimed to explore the multifaceted nature of sleep health, including factors that promote or hinder quality sleep, and the effectiveness of various interventions in improving sleep habits across diverse populations. We encouraged submissions that delve into the mechanisms underlying sleep quality, the impact of lifestyle choices, and the role of sleep environments in fostering healthy sleep routines, including research on:

Sleep hygiene practices for improved sleep quality

Sleep disorders prevention strategies

Effective sleep health education programs

The impact of sleep routines on well-being

This Collection supports and amplifies research related to SDG 3: Good Health and Wellbeing.

All manuscripts submitted to this journal, including those submitted to collections and special issues, are assessed in line with our editorial policies and the journal’s peer review process.
