About Gurinder Gill

Gurinder Gill is a bold rapper, singer and songwriter who can boast resolute bars beyond his hits with Run-Up Records label co-founders AP Dhillon, Shinda Kahlon and Gminxr. Having an early musical interest growing up in Punjab, Gill took part in school singing competitions and made his debut in 2019 after moving to Canada with the collaborative single “Faraar”, alongside Dhillon and Kahlon. It marked an artistic leap from singing at house parties to performing on record. Gill’s collaborative work with Dhillon (“Droptop”, “Majhail”, “Excuses”) in 2020 kick-started a rise to fame, culminating in their breakout, identity-consolidating hit “Brown Munde” that same year. Friendship and life lessons are often on the agenda for Gill, as on “Tere Te” in 2021. He dropped his solo album Hard Choices in 2023, after much speculation over whether he was still working with the Run-Up crew. Songs like “Wake Up” exude energy, while vulnerabilities and heartbreak also bubble up on “Breathe”, marking a different direction for the hitmaker.
