GNSS jamming and spoofing are often mentioned together. But they are not the same. Jamming blocks or disrupts GNSS signals, making them difficult or impossible to receive. Spoofing is more sophisticated. Instead of blocking the signal, it transmits false signals that can mislead a receiver into calculating the wrong position or time. Understanding the difference and impact is causes is becoming increasingly important as more organisations depend on accurate positioning and trusted timing.
