Spotify Wrapped 2024

SpotifyWrapped2024

It may or not be a popular opinion, but I've always looked forward to Spotify Wrapped. There's something nice about seeing my listening history neatly bundled up in one place. Sometimes, I don't realize how much I've listened to an artist until the recap comes out- or, on the other hand, how little I've listened to another artist (that I thought I was listening a lot to) that they don't even make my top five.

This year, I actually really enjoyed seeing the different themes in my music across various months. I definitely go through phases with what I listen to (artist and genre), but overall, I'd like to say I've stayed pretty consistent through the years.

I also just love checking out other people's Spotify Wrapped lists. Last year, someone randomly posted their list, and saw an unfamiliar name. I was curious enough to check it out since I liked the other artists on their list.

Listening to yaeow was a love at first song.

No surprise, he's one of my top artists this year.

So please, share your Spotify Wrapped- or your Youtube Music, Apple Music, or any other music streaming recap if it has one. I'd love to see it, and maybe find my next random discovery this time around!

My Top Song through the years...

I think exile came out in 2020 during the beginnings of the pandemic, and it’s consistently been one of my favorites. Although it doesn’t always claim the number one spot, it’s never been out of my top five. I love revisiting The Top 100 playlist Spotify curates each year—it’s like flipping through my very own musical scrapbook. Certain songs have a way of transporting me back to specific moments I love, which is probably why I keep coming back to them.

Anyways, what’s on your list?

“favorite lesson” is a great song! Thanks for introducing me with this post. I’m one of the holdouts not using streaming for music and there’s definitely a part of me that misses getting this kind of retrospective.

Ha! Exile is also permanently in my top five. Brilliant!

I don't think that enjoying Spotify's Wrapped is such an unpopular opinion! A lot of people like them. Personally I'm kind of "done" with it (simply that I'm not that interested in MY stats, I don't mind seeing other people's). But since you asked for it in your post I'll share mine later!

Top Artists: League of Legends, Good Charlotte, Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet, Fruit Bats

Top Songs: Dry the Rain (The Beta Band), McKenzie (Houndmouth), Cold Little Heart (Michael Kiwanuka), Glory Box (Portishead), State Of The Art (Jim James)

I don't use Spotify but my post of favorite records of the year is almost done. Some stupid/gross (metal) stuff on it but also some jazz, rap, garage rock haha
