Data shows retail crime is violent crime. The Americas are no exception. In North America, Auror data from 2025 reveals repeat offenders are 2.5X more likely to involve a weapon in stores. 59K stores in the US, Canada, and Mexico alone have adopted Auror to combat this safety threat by removing the ability for repeat offenders to stay invisible. Last year, Canadian stores on Auror increased by 115% YoY and saw a 40% increase in investigations. Across North America, retailers saw a 2X increase in license plate recognition (LPR) sites. The network momentum reflects a growing industry belief that connected intelligence is the only effective response to organized, violent retail crime. More work to do. But with 1M+ dots connected between repeat and organized offenders last year alone in Auror, the new network effect is undeniable. One retail incident doesn’t tell the full story. As a result, retail crime often gets deprioritized. Anchorage Police Department Deputy Chief of Operations Brian Wilson shared how one retail theft helped identify a suspect in a hit-and-run. On its own, that theft might not have carried much weight, but once connected, the magnitude of crime came to light for a stronger case. A single low-value incident rarely reflects the full picture, but when you start linking them together through an intelligence network, patterns around frequency and behavior become clear. A prolific fraudster who placed tampered gift cards on beauty store shelves across Texas just ran out of stores to hit. The repeat offender had been targeting a popular beauty store across Texas, placing tampered gift cards back on shelves for unsuspecting customers to purchase. Each incident was reported and logged in Auror Intel with every location and vehicle noted. When a Vehicle of Interest (VOI) alert popped up at one store, the LP team reacted immediately. Working with local law enforcement, they intercepted the vehicle in the parking lot and arrested the subject. The fraudster now faces first-degree felony charges. Nine reported events built the intelligence picture. One alert turned it into an arrest. Well done to the LP team and local law enforcement for the swift, coordinated response. This is exactly how the network is supposed to work. #AurorNetwork #lossprevention #retail #saferstores #retailcrime

Couldn't make it to our RILA breakout session? We have you covered. 👇 For a decade, we've been measuring and publishing this finding: a fraction of your offenders are responsible for the majority of loss and harm in your stores. The top 10% consistently account for 60-70% of stolen value worldwide. The disparity is greatest in North America where the top 10% generates 4X higher event values than the average offender. But these offenders often stay invisible due to fragmented data. At RILA this week, our session Stopping the 10% walked through what's possible when insights compound across stores, retailers, and jurisdictions. The full companion article is live on RILA's site. If you couldn't make it to Phoenix, this is the next best thing. Standing room only. The AP community showed up for this RILA session. Having retailers and law enforcement share the stage for Stopping the 10% was bigger than a format choice. It was the point. The data is clear: the top 10% of offenders drive the majority of stolen value. Stopping them requires both sides working from the same intelligence. 3 things hit hard: 1️⃣ Your biggest loss and safety problems stem from the same small group of people. Top 10% repeat offenders steal at nearly 4X the average event value. 2️⃣ Stopping a prolific offender is worth far more than a case closure. At one retailer, half of repeat offenders didn't come back after a successful intervention. 3️⃣ Law enforcement moves faster when reporting is done right. Anchorage Police Department identified and focused on their top 20 retail offenders to drive hundreds of outcomes in just 10 weeks. Huge shoutout to the panelists who brought this to life: Rory Stallard (Ulta Beauty), Brian Wilson (Anchorage PD), Jonathan N. (H&M), and to everyone who packed the room and asked thoughtful questions (10+ Q&As!). 👏 #AssetProtection #RetailCrime #ORC #RAP2026 #SaferStores Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) Jon Briegel

"Working with Auror, the retailers that are on the platform have a clear advantage over the ones that are not." - Det. Sgt. Nicholas Ferrara, Gainesville Police Department Nick shared this on the main stage at RILA AP this morning. Experts from REI, Ulta Beauty, and Gainesville PD held a candid discussion on how AI and connected intelligence are fundamentally changing what's possible in asset protection. Key takeaways: 🌐 Connected intelligence makes your most harmful, repeat offenders visible. 🤝 Retailers and law enforcement are more effective together than either is alone. 📈 AI is the force multiplier. It's not replacing human judgment but providing needed context to make better decisions at scale. Grateful to share the stage with this group for a conversation that was equal parts honest and actionable. 2M+ dots connected across the Auror Network. 1M+ last year alone. That’s the power of the network. Different stores, different cities, different retailers. All connected through structured and consistent crime reporting on the largest Retail Crime Intelligence network. The top 10% of offenders are responsible for 60% of retail crime globally. Offenders thrive in anonymity and rely on stores not seeing beyond their four walls. Every retailer that joins makes the picture clearer, giving the community the right information to keep stores safe. The network is working and helping retailers make their stores safer. Day 1 at RILA AP is in the books, and booth 911 has been a hot spot. 🕹️ The claw machine brought the fun, but the experts brought the energy. AP/LP leaders stopped by to talk about what they're seeing. Those conversations are exactly what this conference is about. Tomorrow is packed. Auror has two speaking sessions on the agenda, and more to share at the AI Lounge. If you haven't made it to booth 911 yet, tomorrow's your chance. See you there! #RILAAP2026 #AurorNetwork #AssetProtection #LossPrevention #AurorAgents

Retail crime isn't just a store problem. It affects us all. And it takes a committed network to stop. At Axon Week in Nashville, law enforcement leaders shared what's working. The numbers are hard to ignore: 📊10% of offenders are responsible for 60-70% of stolen value 🚫 Repeat offenders connect to burglary, assault, and drug trafficking 📈 One PD addressed $250K and obtained 250 warrants with three officers. 🚔 In Anchorage, officers are securing warrants in ~45 minutes using the Retail Crime Hub For departments doing more with less, the Retail Crime Hub helps reveal the full story, turning what look like $50 thefts into connected, felony-level organized crime cases. Watch the event recap for other key moments from Axon Week. Thank you Brian Wilson, Jason Fisher, Raul O. Aguilar, Phil Thomson, Read Hayes, PhD, Dave Nisleit, and Khristopher Hamlin for two insightful sessions! And Axon for hosting another stellar event. 🤝 #RetailCrime #LawEnforcement #AxonWeek #PublicSafety #RetailTheft

7 years ago we started building AI into Auror. We didn't do it because it was trendy. We did it because the rising scale of retail crime demanded it. This year at RILA AP, we'll reveal what that foundation makes possible. Visit us at booth 911 for a first look at the next era of Auror Intelligence, and to meet our newest team members. 👥 Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) #AI #RetailCrimeIntelligence
