Thai Women's Volleyball Team Returns Home After Historic Olympic Qualification

SAMUT PRAKAN, Sept 1 (TNA) - The Thai women’s national volleyball team returned to Bangkok on Monday night after winning the 2026 Asian Championship and securing a spot at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

The team arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport at around 21:00 p.m. local time on Thai Airways flight TG 615, led by head coach Kiattipong Radchatagriengkrai and team captain Pornpun Guedpard, who was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player and Best Setter. They were joined by award-winning teammates Thatdao Nuekjang and Sasipapron Janthawisut.

A welcoming delegation of senior sports and government officials—including representatives from the Tourism and Sports Ministry, the Sports Authority of Thailand, and the Volleyball Association—met the squad with flowers.

Large crowds of fans also gathered at the arrivals hall to greet the players, collect autographs, and celebrate Thailand’s first-ever Olympic qualification in women's volleyball.

Coach Kiattipong expressed gratitude to supporters and noted that preparation for the 2028 Games would begin immediately, focusing on team readiness and developing future players over the next two years.
