On the Stack Exchange network, users who have 15 reputation can cast flags on posts. One of these flags is dedicated to content we consider to be spam, and if four users raise this kind of flag on a post, it will be deleted.
When a new post is made, we evaluate how similar it is to other posts that were previously deleted by the community’s spam flags. If the evaluation suggests that a new post is nearly identical to a recently deleted spam post, our anti-spam systems will automatically remove it without manual review. A post deleted in this way will have a notice attached to it explaining that it was deleted because it was “highly similar to recent spam”.
What do I do if I disagree with this automatic deletion?
If your post is deleted by the system in this way and you feel that it was incorrectly deleted, you can ask one of our site moderators to review the deletion and potentially overturn it. To do so, click the “Flag” button below the post’s body, select “looked at by a moderator”, and explain why the system’s deletion was incorrect and should be overturned. Moderators will be alerted to your flag and may undelete the post if they find that the post is not spam.
