Rooftop Cinema Club Midtown is an open-air cinema with views of the Empire State Building on the 3rd-floor terrace of the Embassy Suites Hotel at 60 West 37th Street, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues.
This is not your average movie night -- get here early for sunset views of Manhattan, cocktails at golden hour, lawn games, and more in the heart of Midtown. Settle in to one of our signature lounge chairs with your wireless headphones and get ready for an immersive movie experience.
Screenings run year-round, and the calendar is built for New York — newer releases, cult classics, drag nights, queer cinema, and family matinées on weekend afternoons.
Almost nothing in the network is easier to reach: Herald Square is a block away, Bryant Park two, and Penn Station and Grand Central are both a short walk — most guests come up by elevator, not by car.

No on-site parking. Paid public garages on West 37th and West 38th Streets, immediately adjacent. Rideshare drop-off on West 37th Street.
For public transit, we are one block from 34th St–Herald Square (B, D, F, M, N, Q, R, W); two blocks from 42nd St–Bryant Park (7); and about a 10-minute walk from Penn Station or Grand Central.

Step-free throughout: street-level elevators run to the 3rd-floor terrace, with accessible restrooms and designated accessible seating.
Food, Drinks & Concessions
The Midtown bar is a full craft bar — signature cocktails, New York beer and wine — open from doors to the end of the film. Concessions cover the classics done a little better: fresh popcorn, candy, and warm snacks. Outside food, alcohol, and drinks aren't permitted.
Venue Policies & FAQ
Family matinées are open to all ages. Evening screenings are 16+ for cinema admission and 21+ for the bar; bring a valid photo ID.
Doors open up to 60 minutes before showtime — time for a drink, a lawn game, and the skyline before the film.
Screenings run through light passing rain, and we hand out complimentary ponchos if it drizzles. If severe weather requires us to cancel, we’ll do our best to make that decision at least one hour before your event. However, weather conditions can change quickly. If the forecast looks favorable but severe weather develops close to showtime, we may need to cancel with less notice to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests.
No — outside food, alcohol, and drinks aren't permitted. The on-site bar and concessions cover cocktails, local beer and wine, popcorn and snacks.
Tickets are non-refundable, but you can self-transfer to any other Midtown screening before showtime in your My Rooftop account.
We are Social Cinema – talk, laugh, text and snap to your heart’s content, but please be respectful of other guest’s experience, especially once the film begins. Unruly, disruptive or unnecessarily loud guests will be asked to leave.

The Midtown rooftop books as a private venue in Manhattan — a film premiere, a brand launch, a company night, a milestone birthday, or a rooftop wedding. A buyout includes the full 3rd-floor terrace, a custom film selection, full bar service, and an on-site team to run the night. Capacity is 110.
