Make Europe the Electro Union! ⚡ Europe has lived through three energy price shocks in four years. The continent runs on fuel it does not own, shipped through waters it does not control. Every terawatt-hour of clean domestic electricity is a terawatt-hour others cannot control. The good news is that we can do it differently. Electrifying road freight is for example possible to do fast, and at scale. Now. Doing that will strongly contribute to ending the fossil fuel chokehold on Europe's economy, once and for all. BREAKING NEWS: Einride and Amazon collaborate to help electrify freight We are thrilled to announce we are working with Amazon to scale electric freight capacity in the U.S. Following a successful initial trial, Einride will deploy 75 manually operated electric heavy-duty trucks and supporting charging infrastructure across five locations in the U.S. The trucks will support Amazon’s middle mile network, powered by Amazon Relay, and are projected to drive up to 3 million electric transport miles annually, all with zero-tailpipe emissions! We’re welcoming GEN (Ret) Keith Alexander to Einride’s Board of Directors. General Alexander is a current Amazon board member and one of the most distinguished figures in U.S. defense and cybersecurity, a four-star general, the longest-serving Director of the NSA, and founding commander of U.S. Cyber Command. After his military career, he founded IronNet, a cybersecurity firm. His appointment follows our first successful pilot for autonomous technology with a European NATO-allied defense organization as we’re now scaling our defense business: recruiting specialized talent, developing defense-specific expertise, and scaling from pilots to full programs. General Alexander brings the experience to ensure our systems meet the standards required by NATO-allied and U.S. defense organizations. Today we announced the transition to electric freight for Coop Sverige in the entire Uppland region of Sweden, covering transport to 23 grocery stores. Einride has secured its FIFTH NHTSA approval, this time for operations in Austin, TX! This approval follows similar road approvals for deployments in Arizona, Colorado, South Carolina, and Tennessee, as we scale our U.S. operations.
