Try on clothes virtually in Chrome

You can virtually try on clothing on shopping websites in Google Chrome.

Important: To use this feature in Chrome, you must:

  • Be signed into Chrome
  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Have an account with Search Services History turned on.
  • Be on an account that is not managed or part of a Workspace organization.

Note: This feature is not yet available in all regions and languages.

How the try it on feature works

The try it on feature in Chrome uses AI to replace the image of the model from the website with your uploaded picture. You can easily switch between the picture of you in the clothes and the website’s model in the clothes. Learn more about how the try it on feature works.

When you choose to use this feature, you'll be asked to upload a picture of your whole body. This picture is saved in your Google Account in google.com/saves so you can use it again. You only need to upload your picture once. You can delete it at any time.

Use the try it on feature in Chrome

Important: This feature is not yet available on all retailer websites.

When you are on a product detail page on certain clothing websites, look for Try it on in the search box or the prompt near the top of your screen.

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. Go to a shopping website and find an item of clothing you want to virtually try on.
  3. Go to the product details page.
  4. Click the Gemini icon in the search bar with “Try it on.”
    1. You may also see a suggestion that says “Try this on and get shopping insights from Gemini.”
  5. If you haven’t yet uploaded a photo, you will be prompted to upload one.

Tip: The try it on feature in Chrome both helps you try on the clothing item virtually, and also provides shopping tips in Gemini.

The full-length photo that you have uploaded for the try it on feature is kept safe in your Google Account. You can find or remove this picture whenever you want by visiting google.com/saves.

  1. On your computer, open Google Chrome.
  2. Select More .
  3. Select Settings.
  4. In the menu at left, select AI innovations.
  5. Select Try it on.
    1. You will be sent to google.com/saves.
  6. Select the collection called “Try on photos.”
  7. To delete the photo, select More More and then Remove Delete

Troubleshoot issues with the try it on feature in Chrome

If you have problems with the feature, you can try to fix them:

  • Photo upload errors: Your photo must meet requirements. Make sure it is a photo of you, shows your whole body, is bright enough, and isn't blurry. Try uploading again or check your internet connection.
  • Image generation errors: If the picture of you wearing the clothes is not correctly created, you can regenerate the image by going into the floating menu on the top right of the image and clicking Regenerate.
  • Feature not appearing: Not all shopping websites have this feature. Make sure you are on a product details page. Make sure this feature works where you live.

You can report ongoing issues with the try it on feature in Chrome's feedback tool. To report persistent issues, select More and then Help and then Report an issue.

Data & privacy with the try it on feature

Google keeps your private information and data safe. Here's what the try it on feature does with your information:

  • Your photo: The full-length photo you upload for the try it on feature is kept safe in your Google Account. This photo is used only when you use the try it on feature in Chrome. It is not shared with other websites or companies. You can review or remove this picture from your Google Account at any time by visiting google.com/saves.
  • Image processing: When you use the try it on feature on a shopping site that works with it, Google's AI works with pictures. It uses the picture of the clothes and your uploaded photo to make the virtual try-on.
  • Personal data: Your photo and information made from your photo for virtual try-on are private information about you. Google uses this information according to Google’s Privacy Policy. We don't use your try it on picture or the pictures it makes for ads.
